Funny that Dowagiac will pay all that money out for tv commercials but we can't have 4th of July fireworks or a decent family oriented festival because they don't have money for it!!!! The cost of those commercials would probably put on a nice fireworks display....OH WAIT...that would be something for all ages....!!! People running Dowagiac are morons!!!

Tami, I can tell you that the City of Dowagaic did not invest in these commercials. The businesses themselves are investing thier own money into it. So support your local businesses. A couple of individuals came up with this campagin to help out the community.

Do not believe that for a minute tami. The Chamber queen and Who Knew princess were behind that and dont think they were not.
We were asked to participate, I wouldn't spend a dime through the chamber and her court.
Shop anywhere but dowagiac !!!

Tami, I accept your apology and I understand that you could have that assumption, it's people like Roger who make you think like that. Once again, I am going to make it this very clear and honest...the Chamber invested no money into this. I won't reveal who I am, but I can tell you I know every detail about the campaign. Roger...it's a shame you think you know the details and you want to go out of your way to slam a community you don't seem to care about.

The DDA did help pay for this ad, you are just using a play on words.

Why not reveal yourself if you have all the facts?

This is why we moved from Dowagiac its was always a play on words.

Vicky and Chris (which may be you) HAVE THEIR HANDS IN EVERYTHING.

So tell us "A good source" how much business has it brought to your dying town?

I remember when the owner of the Wrens Nest was sucking up to the Chamber, sure didn't him much good did it?

Dowagiac will never be St. Joe and given what I have read on the internet will be a ghost town in the near future.

Anyone thinking of visiting this town after seeing the tv spots forget it, there is nothing there but high priced specialty shops. Go to Wal-mart

We will be waiting for you to reveal yourself, if not you carry no weight and may be passing on incorrect information as usual.

Roger, all I can tell you is that I'm not a business owner, I don't live in Dowagiac, and I am not into city politics. It's comical that you seem to know the details. I will let it bother you that I won't reveal myself and you are so far off track to what you think you know. I will give you credit for your detective skills, but you should be able to figure this out.

"A Good Source", I thank you for your input as I wondered if the businesses themselves had paid for the ads...don't know who Roger is but since I am a big girl and can think for myself, I am inclined to believe what you say. It's people like Roger that's causing this little town to become a dying town. More positive thoughts would certainly help our town more than the "putting down" of anyone trying to help with information issues!!! And if we had their energy directed towards helping this town instead of putting it down, they might just see a big change here! Thanks again "a good source" for clearing me up on this matter...and again, i'm sorry to the city of Dowagiac for opening my mouth when i didn't have the right info!!! Tami

You can speak for yourself but don't come on here tellling a good source that his info carries no weight here...it did with me!!!!

A good source, You have to be in with the city or you would not be painting Dowagiac as some kind of land of OZ.
This town is falling apart and going broke. Why do you think people post so may things that are negative. Are you saying that you don't live here and you know more than residents?
The reason you wont tell who you are is because you are a liar just like the elected officials in Dowagiac.
I will not respond anymore to a ghost who hides behind incorrect facts and a fake name.

Tami,
Thank you for the kind words and don't worry about what you said previously. Yes, the businesses are paying for the spots, it's a long term commitment, and they have been satisfied. I am one of the originators of the idea and I have a lot of pride towards this. I listened to everyone's ideas, concerns, complaints, etc. and essentially came up with a plan that would fit everyone. I enjoy visiting the city, and I want to grow as much as you and everyone else.

Now I've got Dale along with Roger from Watervliet. Dale, I'm flattered that you think that I am a lying city official and a ghost. I promise you that I know every detail. I would be glad to meet you in person, tell you who I am, but it sounds like you don't like to travel to Dowagiac. I would even buy you lunch at one of the "dying" restaurants. I never said I knew more than the residents, what I was saying is that I know the details about the city campagin. I have visited many cities throughout Michiana, and there are many with more issues than Dowagiac.

Please name the communities that have more issues than Dowagiac.

Now you said it, now back up your statement with facts.

Not one community has a higher electric rate. FACT
Not one community has a higher water and sewer rate. FACT

No other cities mayor is accused of rigging a car auction. FACT

No other citys funeral director had human remains in his kitchen. FACT

No other cities Doctor was arrested for child porn FACT

No other cities manager was arrested for attempting to have oral sex with a child, FACT

No other cities elected officials can't take no for an answer and continue to vote on a water increase until they finally get a yes vote.

If you are involved in the tv ads and such. Explain to the readers why the chamber wrote a huge article in the paper patting herself on the back for the House of David Museum.

Funny that fell through and they are moving to a different community. Why is that?

OK I have stated facts, now its your turn to nae cities from the local area that have the problems Dowagiac Does.

Any bets she don't back up her statement?

There isn't a single place in Dowagiac that residents shop at except the beauty shops, grocery stores and the dollar stores.

The city doesn't want shops in Dowagiac that regular residents would shop at.

You can see that by the businesses that chamber recruits. The only place they put ads to open businesses is the Chicago paper because people around here know the truth about Dowagiac.

Many businesses have came to Dowagiac in the last few years and kissed the chambers butt to the point it was sickning. Did it do them any good? NOPE all of them closed as soon as their lease was over.

Don't try to paint this town as a place that residents shop at because we all know that is not true.

As far as other towns I agree with Roger, this town is corrupt to its soul from the mayor to the council.

There is even a facebook page that calls Dowagiac Dead-Wah-Jack land of a forgotten past and a bleak future. That says it all
