Are you OK????? Have off duty deputies check in on the well being of senior citizens? Who is going to pay for that? The ICE money that comes in helps the county so you want to get rid of that??? The Sheriff has to balance his budget like everyone else. The Sheriff came in under budget. Sounds like he is doing what he was elected to do. We, the Deputies of York County, don't have low morale. We bust our butts everyday, risk our lives serving warrants, and go home to our loved ones each and every night. What we want is a bit more money for all the different responsibilities we perform daily. The Sheriff has been our biggest supporter in getting better wages, better equipment, better training, and above all else, better respect from the local community and our fellow law enforcement brothers and sisters. So do me a favor, ask yourself this question. WHAT'S IN YOUR WOLLETT? Form this angle, NOTHING!

I am a police officer in York County and can tell you that Sheriff Keuerleber has significantly improved his department. Central booking, the criminal response unit, fugitve task force, warrant sweeps are a few examples. Thanks to the Sheriffs departments efforts numerous felons have been taken off the streets. He provides assistance to all the counties police departments and state police when asked. Mr. Wollett should pay attention to what is going on in York County as there is currently a highly successful police explorer program in York County and it has been active for over a year. He doesn't know this and wants to be Sheriff, don't think so. Keuerleber has done a fantastic job and deserves another term.

i support sheriff keuerleber and any time you can come in under budget in these times your working hard. this idea from the other guy of checking on the older people of the county, 1 who is paying for this? 2 remember this is york county not york city,lots of land / gas to provide this. maybe a nice thought but wrong group of people doing this job.
to the comment of needing more money, folks mainstream people have had there wages froze or even laid off, if you really want to put a distance between you and mainstream people complain about money and tools you have to use. in the perfect world everyone would have everything, for the near future being thankful for what you have and working the best you can at the wage you make needs to be the way it is for now. I pray for better times ahead so everyone can get a raise.
cops firefights and other officers of the law should be the first to get smart raises but the year 2011 is not the year.

WOW! He wants to be Sheriff? Do your research before you comment next time. If it's not broke don't break it. The Sheriff's Dept does a fine job. They have cut cost, initiated new programs, and brought home the men and women who protect York. How can you cut any of this? These people don't get paid enough to protect your well being. Ask yourself, would I put my life on the line to save yours, probably not. These men and women work hard, and are not unappreciated by the Sheriff. He works hard to bring in revenue. You also have Lou the K9 who has been with the dept for 4 years who hopefully you won't need to find your child, or catch a criminal running through your back yard. I appreciate everything the Sheriff and the men and women do to serve our community. Sheriff you have my vote.

Sheriff Rich Keuerleber has done more, with less than anyone.
I have followed the articles, comments and suggestions of Mr. Wollett over the past several months. He has NO IDEA as to what a deputy sheriff does. He has consistently stated he will do this or do that, when the deputy’s already are performing these tasks and have been for years. I guess it makes political sense to make these statements to arouse the voters into thinking he has something the give. Sheriff Keuerleber has faults, as we all do. Has he made mistakes? Sure he has and has learned from each and every one of them. That makes him who he is…the best man for the job! From time to time we’ve had our differences. You can’t supervise 104 deputies and please them all. Rest assured he has always had the best interest of the people of York County in the forefront. His record speaks for itself. Hopefully he will be reelected to another term. I know he has my vote and I hope he has yours.
