proof is in results...looks at crossfiters who eat paleo vs those who dont. Look at those who eat paleo vs those that follow just about any other diet. It just works. And, as for the high fat version causing heart disease, the Dr is misunderstanding the fat source that these paleo followers are using. They are consuming the good fats found in fish, olive oil and avocado. This will not lead to HLP. It will likey improve your lipid profile by adding more HDLs. I tested a 36 year old man who was on the this diet and ate 70% fat and his lipid profile was astonishingly better than any of the healthy 20 year olds we tested.

Of course, the article specifically talks about good fats, not processed, hydrogenated, grain-fed meat fats!

I take issue with this statement:
"They see a lot of weight loss in the beginning," Ketterman said. "It will even out. That's when people get tired of it."
Fairly typical remark from a nutritional expert, but it doesn't match our experience. My wife and I have been on paleo for more than a year. We both lost around 20 pounds, but that was not the main issue for us. In this time, I have stopped snoring, gone down two pant sizes, and just generally feel better. Neither of us has the slightest interest in going off the program.

Ketterman has no clue about the Paleo diet. The paleo diet still has a lot of carbohydrates, they just come from vegetables and occasionally from fruit. It's about eating healthier. It's just so happens that one of the benefits can be weight loss. Calories in vs calories out is a horrible way to look at eating, because 100 calories from cake is not the same as a 100 calories from fish.
