Wow---100,000 for chief in this area. Think he can say what he makes without laughing all the way to the bank... 100,000--- not bad for all the ills he will deal with in Dover. 100,000, --when the township has no money.

Unbelievable!!! This is why taxpayers are so pissed off. What a joke. The article should read "New chief charged with theft"!!!

"York" and "NOBAMA"...you guys should have secured an education instead of being in charge of the fries machine. Bit late now to allow your supreme jealousy to begin showing. KUDOS to CHIEF BENTZEL.
Remember who I am when I ask you to fix a ticket for me for defending your advancement/salary. Ain't that how it works.

The salary is too high starting as Chief. it took Sagetti 23 years to get to that sum of money. Were these people who voted his slary sitting on their brains??? I would say there should be a lower starting salary. Then given time to earn a larger salary - like most of us do!!!!Just wait until contracts start coming up to renew their services - York Counties small communities will not be able to afford their services
wow thats a lot

Congratulations Mark! I remember your first few days on the job. You were a very good officer as a rookie and you have been a good officer to date. Always remember where you came from and your feelings the day you started this job and you will make us Dover residents proud.

Get a grip folks.
In the grand scheme of things 100k is
NOT a lot of money for a Police Chief.
Each school superintendent in the region
makes that and MORE,they have less responsibility
than a police chief. Oh and lets not forget
our major league baseball and football players.
Like the previous poster said you wanna make
a 100 grand plus a year...Get ya some education!

Hey Ernie! School superintendants have doctorate degrees! You can be a police chief even if you dropped out of high school! Do you see the difference?

Pretty good, yet as you know, all one needs is a GED to become a bully with a badge. Why should a cop get paid more than a unviersity professor?

So...NOW do you any of you think it's strange the way they dress like the gestapo??

It's the 4th Reich up there in Northern Regional's department. Those bastards would arrest their mothers if they could.

The Northern Regional police are truely like the Nazi's, I have experienced there wrath. You ask a question and they arrest you for no reason. They all have personalities undereducated, uniform, badge, all idiots. They should all be removed and replaced with a well trained police force from New York. These are country folks who think they are big shots.

Spring Garden Twp.'s Chief of Police makes that much and only supervises 1/3 the number of officers. The taxpayers of Spring Garden should be asking the township commissioners why.

It is time to disband this department. They are never going to stop asking for more and more money from the taxpayers. These over-jealous, cocky, arrogant officers are lead by, and trained by, like minded supervisors within their ranks. The taxpayers can't afford to continue to pay more and more, and receive less and less. Dillsburg made the right decision. The other muniipalities need to follow the lead that was set for them by Dillsburg. The residents in the area "covered" by this department are simply not getting what they are paying for.

BULLDAWG must have been neutered by his owner or hit by a car. Perhaps his leash is too tight or his owner does not give him enough attention. He must have been chained to a stake in the sun last summer because his mind is that of a dumb animal.

Time to take this guy for what he is and that is a gutless, mindless and cowardly person who will engage in personal attacks without providing specifics. One of which was the almost half million dollars the small town hacks in Dillsburg paid to the NYCRPD to leave.

This great idea resulted in a lower standard of service and a long term debt to taxpayers. Another example of the small lower level thinking skills employed in small town politics.

Hey BULLDAWG Let it go or get a new master.

Time to strive for a real life. In human years not dog years. I guess the NYCRPD must have clipped you back pretty hard for you to be such a hater.

Time for your medication.

Pleae double your normal dose and as soon as you are released from the mental health unit call your personal physician and schedule follow up appointment.

The NYCRPD has won awards for their uniform and for the car design and have had many other awards bestowed to the agecny.

Maybe when the time comes and you are allowed to have your picture taken in your paper gown a the mental health unit, you can send it in to the paper to see if you can have an award for the "best dressed mental health patient".
