Don't tell me my checks no good. I deposited it at the driveup window at the bank and didn't have any problem. I just bought my new riding mower on credit and gave each one of the kids $500.00. to go out and have a good time. Do they answer that phone at NYCRPD after 5:00?

You do know that if you were to cash/deposit that check, and began spending the money, it would be YOU that would be responsible to repay the bank out of YOUR funds once the bank realized that the check was bogus. You do know that, right?!

No, I'm not over 65. I just know that the banks will not take a hit, and will be sure to recoup what is theirs, and that is out of the pocket of anybody who has an account with them, whether that person be you or me or someone older than 65, or some dummy who "didn't know any better".

It depends on what your bank's policy is. Some make the funds available immediately as a convenience to the customer but even then there is always that stipulation that they 'may' put a hold on the funds until the check clears. It would depend on the amount of the check.

checks never clear. if 2 months later it is bogus, the bank takes your money. ask someone at the bank how long it takes for a check to clear. you will get many different answers. then ask if you are responsible if the check is bad even if it is a month after the deposit.
