I sure hope they fix that glitch. It scared me to death. They gave no information and there was no voice explaining it was an Amber alert. It made no sense.

Stop making such a big deal about it. I too saw the live broadcast as well. I knew it was either a test or a computer glitch right away, because there were no details. People are flipping out over this because it interrupted their primetime TV viewing for a couple of minutes. Meanwhile, my TWC internet, phone and TV signals are constantly plagued with disruptions and outages. And no one seems to be organizing a task force to find out why and get it fixed. How come?

I recall listening to a Tribe game back in 1976 or so, and suddenly instead of Herb Score telling us "there's a two-hopper to short, Heidemann takes it on the first hop and throws him out" we heard something else.

In very stern tones, we heard a male voice say "This... is a national emergency!" followed by some beeping and dead air for several seconds.

Now THAT was exciting!

They're covering this up. It's just a test leading up to martial law in October.

Why does my gut tell me that TWC will have a "fix" that requires them to raise our rates?

LOL believe in the conspiracy!

1) It was the mother ship beaming commands to the aliens who control all earthly broadcasting to start the general panic, so they can commence their landing unopposed and quickly subjugate the masses.

2) No one detected the embedded code in TWC's transmission:

I'm a little confused, why is Time Warner even involved in this. And why does the alert only happen on broadcast and cable TV. What about the thousands of satellite TV subscribers? From this story it sounds like they don't get the message.

If the broadcast station sends it out as part of their signal, wouldn't that go out to everybody automatically.

I guess it has something to do with targeting the information to certain areas/counties. That is something that cable can do, which I don't believe satellite can.

Yeah, we saw that thing come across our tv and it scared us to death. Please don't make the same mistake again!
