If they work they are breaking the law by using false documents and SS Cards.

U.S. Attorney Christopher Christie would have a different opinion of the law if he was speaking to family members of the people who have been killed in traffic accidents where illegal immigrants were driving wihtout proper drivers education, or a license or leagl insurance...

Sorry to hear you were appointed to your position.

So wait they aren't breaking the law but he stated the following..
Correa also said Christie drew a distinction between undocumented immigrants _ who are committing a civil violation _ and those who re-enter the U.S. after being deported, who are committing a crime by doing so.
It's a civil violation - apparently now that is not a crime? What?
Christie, who was appointed by President Bush, said the United States needs tighter border security to keep out illegal immigrants.
Why would he call them illegal immigrants if they weren't committing a crime? Why would we need tighter border security if it is not illegal for them to be here?

Great job of backpedaling on this one... ohhh my head it hurts.

I've already written my House and Senate members requesting they intercede with the U.S. Attorney's office and ask that Mr. Christie step down. Obviously, Mr. Christie's political ambitions have colored his judgement and his remarks on immigration, his "passing the buck" as it were, were irresponsible and misguided. Doubtless supporters of illegal immigration will take what they want from Christie's feeble minded remarks, and while this may serve Mr. Christie's "election agenda", it is hardly helpful in addressing the egregious illegal immigration problems confronting this nation.

Christie should step down as U.S. Attorney before beginning his pandering for elected office. Remaining on the payroll at tax payer expense while preaching his "pro-illegal" agenda is not in the interest of the U.S. Attorney's office.

The act of "Illegal presense" IS NOT a crime. It's a Civil Violation. Most of the 12 million people here without permission ARE NOT criminals. Why are some people so upset with the truth?
