Boston Scientific gets OK to sell stent in Europe

Boston Scientific has received approval to sell in Europe a new heart stent called Promus Element - a product that the company needed to launch before year's end, and a device that could generate higher profits for the manufacturer.

Aren't you all glad that our marginally useful government run FDA is keeping a life-saving device off the market in the US, for at least 2 more years? It would be a shame if the government was actually in the business of helping keep people healthly, wouldn't it?

And before you start screaming about all the good that the FDA does by 'protecting' us from bad products, remember that you are the same people who hold up EUROPEAN health care as the standard the US should be shooting for.
