Immediately he blames the driver for road rage or being impatient.. The first thought that came to mind- Was the sun shining this morning because at the time of the morning the sun would have been in this persons eyes..

The driver of the vehicle should be cited or ticketed.

The sun was definitely shining this morning, and I truly believe that was the main factor in the accident. It's disheartening that people automatically attack the driver and think they had malicious intent and wanted to break the law. Why do people have to get personal and lay blame during a horrible tragedy? An accident is an accident. A man is fighting for his life, and a driver is living with the guilt of accidentally hitting someone. This was a freak accident that could have happened to anyone driving to work on a sunny morning. We need to put the negative comments to rest and think of what the people involved are going through. My thoughts and prayers are with the victim and his family during this extremely difficult time.

Alot of these bicyclist ride side by side, and won't go single file.As you go by them they think they own the road, and there are specific bike trails.I ride a Harley and they won't move over for anyone to pass.Maybe the driver was trying to squeeze through the yellow lines orthe sun was a factor.

I put it to you: Would you want someone to pass you in YOUR lane? Neither do cyclists, passing in the other lane is much safer, and the law BTW. Share the roads, not the lane.

It's a shame that drivers do not know or abide by the laws regarding cyclists. A minimum clearance around a cyclist is the law. Praying for Jeff and his family. Praying for justice for the driver who caused injuries. He hit them from behind ...hard to categorize as an accident.

When we drive, with sun glare or not, and even on a curve. We must always get off the gas and tap the brakes or be ready to tap the brakes. On the instant that we see the bikes on the road. They are ahead of us and doing from 14 to 28 mph. It is not an impossible task. It is a matter of time and distance thats it.

If the bike cant do the speed limit, what is it doing on the road? If I drive my car down I94 doing 15mph, I am impeding traffic. So are the bicyclists!

Just so everyone on this post knows, I live right near where this incident happened and unfortunately it was the Cyclist that was at fault in the accident. It is truly a tragedy and is terrible that it happened but according to the police that were on the scene, the bicylists were at fault, so be careful where you put the blame in this case. I am not saying that we shouldn't be cautious of everyone that shares the road, I am just saying that everyone is so quick to blame the driver of the car, which in this case, was not the cause of the accident.

You have no idea who was at fault. When you rear-end someone, it's your fault. This motorist was driving recklessly for the poor visual conditions and someone is dead because of it. I don't care if this happened in your front yard. You're way out of line. This is undoubtedly why you are anonymous.

Really Craig, were you there???? were you in the car to know that they were driving recklessly...You're way out of line being a a55 about something you really know nothing about unless you were there and I doubt you were. Go back to your mom's basement

If you decide to ride your bike on the street, you are taking matters into your own hands.

Don't automatically blame the driver of the car. The cyclists in the area of the accident, have a tencancy to ride side by side. They are not travelling the speed limit. Most do not have lights on the backs of their bikes. And none of them have brake lights. What makes them think they can ride in the middle of the road? I know bikes and cars are supposed to share the road. It is common sense to ride single file, on the right side of the road.

It is hard enough watching for motorcycles, and bikes are a mere few inches wide at most points on a bike.

I hope cyclists take horrible accident to heart and ride smart!

My thoughts and prayers to all THREE famillies, the cyclists, and the man who has to live with this the rest of his life.

I just came frpm Jeff's memorial service. My heart goes out to all involved in the accident and those who lost Jeff. He used to own the gym I went to In Racine, where you were always greeted with a smile. I was hit by a car riding my bike 6 weeks ago . I spent time in the hospital and have broken bones. But I am alive thank god.I can tell you I will no longer ride on the street, trails only for me. People are just to distracted while driving now with phones
and texting . I am not saying the driver who hit Jeff was to blame but, my
accident? Bikers be careful it is dangerous out there.
