That is very true. I know many people who went to Alexander and Justin and his twin brother always try to act like they can whoop anybody's asses they like and then fight with authorities when they get apprehended. Some people come on this board accusing us of being racist towards blacksbut this incident got the little black thugs out of the lime light for a while because JT and his friends are truely WHITE TRASH! And he has a large record from what I hear. My thing is this......They let drug addicts out of jail early to make room for more "violent" criminals. Well how is this little thug out on tghe streets after all he's done to people? I've seen him in public and how he behaves and I wouldn't want my kids around that. Now its just a matter of time untill what little friends he probably has comes on here and starts trying to stand up for his little worthless ass..........

Everyone has very good points about this. I moved out here from Los Angeles 3 years ago in the hopes that I could raise my kids in a better area. Don't get me wrong, Douglasville is a great town, but has a lot of (as Someone Else said) White Trash, and then your wanna be thugs. My idea is to send them all out to a truly gang infested city (L.A. Chicago, New York, or even down town Atlanta) and see how long they last.
My best goes out to the victims, the unborn child, and their families. Hopefully the Douglas County Police Department, and all prosecutors will make sure JT and his little THUG buddies get what they deserve.

Any updates on the victims?

FYI -- The Douglas County Sentinel finally has something about this. Very sad that it took them this long, and all they did was cut and paste an article that myself and mcduffie posted here.

I KNOW!

I think they may be falling to our peer pressure -

There still was nothing about the armed robbery at the Dollar Store on Thornton Rd on Monday.

Or am I so behind the times believing that an armed robbery in our community is newsworthy - maybe it is commonplace??

OMG! I think I knew this boy. Didn't he used to hang out with Cortney Brewer - another WT wanna be bad ass. Yes, they are bad kids. Doesn't Justin's mom work at the Title Pawn place on Hwy. 5? I'm pretty sure this is the kid. I was roommates with Cortney's mom. The age thing is about right. Didn't one of the brothers shoot the other brother in the arm one time?

Hey - they're just another generation of the "Portwoods" and "Pirkles"! Yes - I'm old school Douglasville! These kids are WT, for sure!

In georgia we do not have attempted murder, the next thing here is aggravated battery which all of the people who end up being charged will have 2 counts of that as well as kidnapping and armed robbery, and assualt with a deadly weapon. Both of the victims are recovering well they are still not out of the woods, but they are both able to speak. The baby is doing good. And they have given the baby steriod in the event that they may have to deliver the baby...but that is that would be in the worst case. The doctors do not believe that Lisa will have to have surgery on her brain but at this time it is something they are monitoring for change. One victim has been caught the Justin Thompson asshole who I would love to hurt very very badly! At this time the police are still looking for the other suspect(s). If ANYONE at all has any idea who the other person is that did this to my sister and Nathan and my soon to be niece PLEASE PLEASE contact the police department and it can be done anonymously. I also would like to thank everyone for all of their support which we have gotten!

If any family would like to post on my blog asking what they asked in the last post, go to http://www.elizacountry.blogspot.com/ . I noticed the Sentinel did not even interview the family of the victims, and I think they should have.

Here's the problem.. I can tell you from experience in the world of drugs... Douglas County has too many people working in there dept. that are working with these drug dealers/LOSER'S!! The dept. can't do anything b/c one drug dealer has a family member/friend in the dept. that listens for any suspision they are looking for there family/friends... By the time it's time to bust them they already have the stash gone and have a plan to get out of it.. It's ridiculous.. You can't bust someone that already knows you coming.. It's Sad really.. DC is full people working in the dept that has too much access to what is going on.. The one's we should be catching can't be caught... They know it too and I promise they keep there eyes wide open and ears listning..

I feel for the two people in the hospital.. I hope they make it out alright.. Now that something tramatic has happened maybe now we will start trying to get to the whole root of the problem.. DRUGS/Drug DEALERS are the root.. I know that justin t. kid was on meth real bad.. How do we solve the problems in front of us.. See the whole picture First..

I agree with Kathryn. To catch the other people that were involed with this maybe the police needs to go to the home of the person Justin T hung out with. I'm sure if there was a "surpirse" visit then there would be a extreme amount of drugs found in the house.
Drugs are the problem in this situation. Justin was on Meth really bad and I'm sure that this wasn't just a case of robbery. The police are not going to tell us that because they don't want us to know that they do NOT have a handle on the drug use and the dealers of the county.

All of this just because a couple of IDIOTS wanted to steal a big-screen tv, and some other electronics. Is it that hard to get a job, and work for things you want. I don't know the victims at all, but I am sure they did not have to steal what they got.
I could be 100% wrong, but if TDL is some sort of gang, they all need to be taken off the streets.
he is not in a gang

First of all, the TDL is not a gang. it's a wrestling move JT used to use in high school that he talked about all the time. It's the "Thompson death lock". Justin Thompson was never in a gang, nor has he ever been a drug dealer. He was a drug user, but also a hard working person and a good friend to those that knew him. That being said, there is no excuse for the events that took place and the fact that he did these things. He has always had issues with anger, and fighting, but he never beat up anyone with five people. He didn't need to.This is a sad case of someone losing control of themselves and their actions in a downward spiral of meth abuse. It's terrible because JT used to be someone who would do anything for his friends. The victims knew this, which is why he was invited to a party at their house in the first place. How the situation took this terrible turn later that weekend we may never know. I am willing to bet that it was a Beef of some sorts, because JT was a manager of Hydra Sonic and didn't need money bad enough to steal electronics. There is more to the story and I wish I knew the rest. As for the "OLD HIPPIE CHICK". Courtney Brewer and JT never ran together. Courtney has had his problems in the past, but is now very ivolved with his church, is a great father to his little girls, and even volunteers at the local Youth Detention Centers on the weekends with his church to educate the troublerd youth on the message of Jesus Christ. This is terrible and I wish the best recovery for the victims as I know them too. Let's deal with this situation for what it is, a troubled man who was hitting a bottom with drugs, got into a situation with a group of people and took it way too far. It is a tragedy and is in no way linked to any kind of Gangs or drug dealers. I wish Douglasville didn't turn everything into a Witch hunt.

McDuffie -- I see where you are coming from on this. You did state that JT was deeply involved in drugs. This means that him and his meth buddies deal with drug dealers, who for the most part are involved with gangs. No JT may not have been the dealer, or a member of the gangs, but got mixed into that category. I am not going to claim that I know JT, or the victims, but this event took place right down the street from where I raise my kids. I am sure JT was a decent person aside from the drug use, yet decisions he made have had a very big effect on the community. I know for a fact that Douglasville has a very high rate of meth users. There have been stories on the news all across the country about that. My family in California called me one night as they were watching it. This is very upsetting to me, and what JT (and anyone else involved) did was just flat out stupid. Nobody can use any kind of excuse for what was done. It was not the drugs that did this. It was a person or a group of people. The drugs did not make the decision to enter that house. If JT had any kind of beef with the victims, he could have very easily discussed it with them.

It may not be a police conspiracy - only a few exceptionally stupid/high people report stolen drugs or drug deals gone bad to the police.

Drugs - either using or selling will take you to new lows. Just say NO!

But whatever the reason - there is still no justification.

The Douglas County legal system doesn't want the drugs to go away. They make a killing arresting high school students and fund their ridiculously lavish courthouse this way. The entire War on drugs was designed for profit, not prevention.

We are trying to go see or take flowers and cards to him at Grady Hospital.. There are a lot of people that think a lot of Nate and Lisa. The hospital is not letting go of any information. They are now saying that he is not at the hospital. Have they been moved. Should people be trying to go see him?? Everyone is wondering and nobody is giving any information on what they can do...
What could I teel friends of the two to do until they get better???

If that were true, why don't they legalize it and tax it? Then we would have lots of $$

Legalization and taxation would not generate a tenth of the revenue they now get from seizures of vehicles, property, money, fines, legal fees, and probation/parole money. The legal system purposely lets certain dealers make money for awhile so they can bust them and take it. The only reason they even arrest small time users is to get information on the big fish.

P.S. they are taxing us too. You are being taxed to fund the war on drugs.

Well in all fairness, I don't think now would be the appropriate time for the media tointerview the family. If it was my loved one this happened to, I wouldn't want the media on my front porch asking me a lot of questions, but I do believe that the Sentinel sucks in keeping people in the know about how terrible this county is.
