Maybe Obama is an opportunity for the US to realize that what we have been doing has been the best within our range. I'm afraid of terrorist attacks now more than ever, I'm scared that his policies will destroy our economy, and i'm afraid of America embracing a different culture and way of thinking...

So true. Take a look at the Roman Empire. Yes, they had the barbarian hordes attacking them, but when you take strong look at the moral and social framework in the last couple of hundred years of the empire you see a steady decline in those areas. While it is also true they had some rather poor leaders in the final days you have to also agree that the moral and social malaise affected them as well and attributed to their poor rule. There have been many comparisons to the fall of the Roman Empire and the moral/social decline in the the United States.
