DOUGLASVILLE, Ga.- The Douglas County District Attorney says he has not yet decided whether to ask for the death penalty against four teens accused of beating to death a college student.

McDade says many callers are urging him to request the death penalty against the four defendants.

He wants to sit down with the family before he makes his decision, says McDade.

The four suspects -- Quantez Mallory, Horace Coleman, Emanuel Boykins and Tracen Franklin -- are accused of beating and killing 18-year old Bobby Tillman.

McDade said the four, who appeared in court Monday, were charged with murder in Tillman's death.

The judge informed the defendants Monday they would have to obtain council. None of the four spoke at the hearing.

Police say Tillman was stomped, kicked and punched to death at a party Saturday night after he walked by a group who decided to attack the next male that passed by.

Investigators said the brutal beating was unprovoked.

According to Douglas County Sheriff Phil Miller, the party was intended to be a small gathering of about 10 friends of a girl who lives at the house, but it grew to a group of 60 to 80 after word spread by emails and other electronic messages. When the girl's parents saw how many people showed up for the party, they asked the partiers to leave.

Investigators said shortly after the party goers were asked to leave, a fight broke out between two females and two males. Douglas County Maj. Tommy Wheeler said one of the females hit a male. Wheeler said the male said he wouldn't retaliate against a girl, but he would hit the next man that walked by.

Tillman happened to be the unlucky person, and Wheeler said multiple attackers beat and stomped him. Tillman was still breathing when officers arrived, but he didn't survive, even after CPR was administered.

McDade called the killing senseless. "Senseless is the only word I can use to describe it. It is an absolutely unprovoked, senseless killing."

Douglas County Coroner Randy Daniel said Monday Tillman died of blunt force trauma to the head and chest.

I honestly think they deserve it. Bobby had a brighter future than all of those thugs combined.

I believe they should hang them from the I-20 bridge at hwy 92.Leave them for a couple days for everyone to see. That would deter crime in this town for EVER.

I showed up as being in Mableton/Smyrna/Powder Springs/Austell and Norcross even one day, until I got tired of it after a week and made a profile. I had people on here ask me why I was replying to a thread about Lithia Springs High school when it shows that I live in Mableton? All to do with the location at any given moment, when you are using cable or phone for your high speed internet.

I haven't seen it addressed yet, but if more people showed up than I was looking for, and I was having a problem getting them to move on I would call the police.

Did the parents call the police? For that matter did the neighbors call?

....and why didn't ANY of those young people try to stop this?????

I hope they do get the death penalty. They beat that boy until they beat all the life out of him, FOR NO REASON AT ALL except that they are wild animals. They are cold blooded murderers. I think the other kids who jsut stood there and laughed, still laughing as late as of when the cops and paramedics were giving him CPR, I think they should be charged with something. They all stood by and did nothing and now a previous life has been lost and from the way it sounds, he was probably better than any kid there.

Amen!! The kids who stood by and did nothing should face charges of being accomplices!

That should have read PRECIOUS life, not previous- typo.

You know, citizens can call the d.a.'s office and voce their opinion, requesting him to seek the death penatly. They said people have been calling all day doing so.

Um, DUHHHHHHHHHHH Off these useless bastards. What other measurement does anyone need to justify execution???? Maybe because they are "misunderstood youths"? Or is it because of slavery? Come on already people, these guys are HORRIBLE and absolutely DESERVE to DIE for murdering someone. Any one of the useless fools who watched this happen should be horse whipped.

Yes, the parents called 911 when they realized the kids were lingering after they told them to leave the home. This was a few minutes before the stomping. Police were on their way when the four animals jumped the kid.

And yes, some of the kids were yelling at the animals to stop it. One brave girl was actively pulling at one of them. Dangerous in that she easily could have been attacked.

All around sad. Just sad.

I call BS with them. Ok if you didn't murder someone, but know who did it would you not tell the investigators or D.A. who those were that murdered the person? Sheriff Miller has already stated there are many holes in the lies they are saying. Pretty much over 50 people pointed them out as being the murderers.

Emanuel Boykins interview. He is the one everyone pointed out as being the one who hit Bobby Tillman 1st, and also the one who made the remark about jumping the next guy that walked by him.

In watching these interviews its apparent to me that these guys have no idea what kind of trouble they are in. They come off as uncaring, confident, trying to be all hiphop, I thought the one was going to look in the camera and say, "Hi Maw, whadup possie!, I be hang'n down in population in D'County!" Watch their body language, how they express themselves, their eye movement, they don't care and are having fun with this. They know something but they aren't talking, "Da po-po gotta come talk to me and I ain' ready to talk cause I'm popular".....Someone should read the riot act to these guys and they should be scared to death not to talk. Give'em another two weeks in lockup, we'll see'm again on a TV interview wimpering like a little baby. They want to be "for real", it's about to get as real as it can get.
