The news said no school tomorrow,I guess there will be no school untill the water gets back to full flow.Because they could not cook in the lunchrooms or have working bathrooms,They could be out of school all week I think, untill the roads are dryed out also.Take care.

There's no school for the entire Atlanta area. A lot of schools, like Paulding, are closed tomorrow and Wed. The damage to the roads makes it unsafe.

Is anyone else ready to send the little bugars back to school?!? Love my kids, glad they are home safe. But days and days of being stuck inside with children is enough to make a person loose their mind! ;-)

Mine is over at a friend's. Maybe you could make a deal with one of your neighbors, and then you could trade off.

I got an email from both schools today that said Douglas County schools would be closed Tuesday and Wednesday also. The kids are just tickled! It's like a snow day but without the snow!

The Seninel article that someone posted somewhere on Topix said that WSA director said they hope to have the majority of service back by Sunday night. I imagine schools will be closed all week. We should hear today.

I cannot imagine we will have school this week. Most of the county still doesn't have water, especially the south and west areas. How can they have school with no water. That would be unsanitary to say the least. I wish they would just go ahead and say though so we would know. People who work need to go ahead and make continued plans.

Thanks fyi!! I can't see them opening them. No water, and the roads still a mess. I don't know what they are going to do about manuvering around Post Road to get kids to school. Post Rd is going to be a longterm mess. My hats off to the people running the transportation logistics for the schools on this one. Then they are saying on the news more rain is coming tomorrow with possible storms. My concern is with fragile roads, bridges and trees what more water will do. I could easily see more roads crumbling and trees falling.

It's official. School is closed for the rest of the week (Thursday & Friday). There's a HUGE banner on the Douglas BOE page.

Enjoy the time off and spend some time at the mall!

Happy unofficial Fall Break.....

I'm wondering how this will be made up. Folks have already made plans for the days in October, November, and December. I have.

I know, EHT. I'm thinking it will be that week that says it will be used as make-up days if necessary, February 15-19. That is better, IMO, because in February they will have another entire week off in April for Spring Break, and they just got back from Christmas break in January.

I never liked that entire week off in February, anyway. It's always cold outside and it seemed like we had just had Christmas break.
