I don't get into debates over race – because I for one am grateful to God and history – if he hadn’t allowed things to progress as they have—I might be out chasing my breakfast right now – or you in some European prison - things are what they are — we have endured – now it’s time to progress. Remember – unless you’re Native American (Indian) living in the United States – we all are out casted from somewhere.
And look what we have done to the Indians – took everything they owned and stood for and now made them out casts in their own home land. And right now our Republican lead government is trying the same thing again, but this time they ran up on people with more money and power - called oil. Our nation government under George Bush is spending billions upon billions fighting a war we can’t win, for what. Now the price of gas is skyrocketing through the roof. So he turns to the same people we just spent billions on to protect to ask them to increase oil production to lower gas prices here, and they tell him to get lost and go back to America. Let me ask you this, what is a person from Peru, Brazil or Argentina? Aren’t they just as American as you. South America – North America So since I was born and raised in America – doesn’t that make me just as American as any white person born and raised in America. So I am an American Black male running for an office in his local government. That’s it period. I am not here trying to take anything or change anybody – just change how we live and are treated by the government we pay to protect us and provide for our needs. Can’t change slavery – and won’t join the KKK. And if I was alive back then, I would be fighting the KKK, just as hard as I am fighting the good ol boy network trying to rule Douglas County just as the KKK tried to rule America – my home. But my history tells me this -- At that time - things were pretty much reversed of what they are now--party wise--wouldn't you say. Wasn't it the Democratic - Republican Party back then and split in 1912, when as you say the KKK went with the Republican Party and Blacks with the Democratic Party. I know all too well about Blacks and the Republican Party -- As a matter of Fact Morehouse College as it is called now was the formation of the first Republican party in Georgia formed in the basement of a Black Church in Augusta, Georgia under the Freedman Bureau. Weren't black republican then - and only moved to the Democratic party after reconstruction when the KKK as you mention moved to the far right extreme now the Republican party. So again I can't change anything about that--just read and appreciate the history. A word to the wise -- history does have a way of repeating itself--so we all should remain cautious and move to a nation / world of tolerance and inclusion of all people to prevent such repeats of history. MY VISION I am committed to keeping our county safe and expanding opportunity for every resident. This commitment is reflected in an agenda that emphasizes the security of our county, strong economic growth, affordable health care system, and retirement security for its employees, honest government, and civil and civic rights. Building communities where differences in colors, opinions and ideas are all respected equally. A County unified behind a clear understanding of tolerance for each other, and dealing effectively with issues and working with local government to accomplish goals. A County that recognizes the importance of protecting our water, the environment with goals that are lofty and noble by developing parks and recreation to improve our health quality while protecting the private property rights of land owners. A County, which will grow responsibly and dare to dream of the possibilities. |
well said! Now he will twist and spin this some more to fit his "black agenda". It was the Reagan Administration and the hated 1986? Republicans who also voted for his hero M L K to get a national day for him to BBQ with his friends and enjoy his "Quarts". I love the saying "Quarterman, your a quart low", whoever said this , Thanks! |

Mr Quarterman, I will repeat From "did I say that" stated and add some more details so you can understand history also; I just read what the state website and state info site says and nothing was mentioned about douglass county or a frederick douglass. It is known by historians that Georgia was occupied by the North or Northerners a k a otherwise called a c a r p e t bagger led legislature installed by the UNION / yankees during reconstruction.(this was from the Republican Party which Douglas County was enemy ruled, and the Republician party was the party which freed the slaves) and he the "yankee installed governor" Rufus Bullock, whom after Federal investigation was found to have ran a improper, corrupt, illegal & arbitrary administration and later INDICTED and arrested, by a fraudulent election tried to "push" the name douglass on DC but a group of "politicians and locals" living in DC (Skint Chestnut some of the founder members) fought it at the capitol and won. It was named douglas county by the 1st judge in the 1870's. So your black version is somewhat correct, but history proves you to and the county website to be a liar. it was only because the north had control and "pushed" the issue - oh yeah the governor left the state and the governorship because he was about to be impeached and ....... Again, Mr Quarterman, that is the truth, so please speak it when speaking about our county named after Stephen Douglas - Douglas County ! and oh yeah, tell your Barber friend on Fairburn Rd to "update his version" so he may quote the "real truths" - or does he like to tell lies also? |

1 So what if a Republican administration controlled Georgia and named a county after a Black person -- where later a group of white democrats fought to have changed (that’s politics)-- the key is fought to have it changed – which means it had to be to something in order to change it. And just to put this conversation to rest --since you are so fond of quoting what on the State website and what Historian have to say, go to the link below which is a map of Douglass County in 1874 and tell me how it is spelled. It appears it was spelled that way up until sometime around 1883. And for further clarification go read (Ga. Laws 1870, p. 13). http://www.cviog.uga.edu/Projects/gainfo/hist... Ol yeah, the site is found under the Carl Vinson Institute of Government -- University of Georgia - who the current constitution and the State of Georgia recognize as the State's official government institute and source of information. So don't argue with me over something neither of us can change -- call the Carl Vinson Institute and ask them why these posting false/lying picture under the State of Georgia name. Name calling, taunting, hurled insults, and tough poses taken are typical male dominance behavior when a new male or new power arises that challenges the existing power structures. So, in recognizing I have no intention of simply blending into the existing culture, I expect the ridicule and challenges. Like I stated over and over -- I am here to engage in dialogue regarding how we can make this county better for its entire people, not a selected few. The insults I am receiving are fear and uncertainty driven and purposeful. I understand some are trying to provoke me, and that my strength and determination to lead this county in the right direction is under attack. So I tell you here and now, the taunts will not work. Fear often manifests itself as anger. Intimidation is not going to work. The real fight is in making things better, not listening to someone that can help make things better but choose to ignore that responsibility. Just as I have risen to meet the challenge of the good ol boy network currently in controlled of Douglas County political and legal system, I will through the grace of God will rise to meet yours. I don't fear anything, because I know who walks with me. You can't beat the power of God. He guides me and led me in everything I do. So I don't fear, because I know the power of my God and why I am fighting. My task is about more than any election, it is about the security to live in peace and raise my family. And so, I will stand my ground, determines to finish the work. My Agenda • Economic Justice – Everyone deserves an equal opportunity to prosper, including equal access to sustainable and productive work; my policies will promote economic self-reliance. • Civil Rights – Every individual’s civil rights must be protected; discrimination and harassment based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or physical and developmental ability will be banned. • Health Care – Every individual should have affordable, comprehensive, quality health care, we will help to provide the facility to make sure they get attention needed, especially our Seniors. • Education – It is essential that we invest in quality public education for all, and above all make sure we operate a fair and equitable school system for our children to learn. • Environment – We must commit to restoring and protecting our environment and implement my plan of "green infrastructure" Elections Are About Choice - The Time Is Now - The Choice Is Yours It's Time For A Change In Leadership! |
you say My Agenda......: "my answer" is that you want to destroy Douglas County and make it like South Fulton, Dekalb, Clayton, City of Atlanta, New Orleans 9th ward, etc., then you will flee to a "better community" and build your "dream home" According to Microsoft website,(and I have direct access to all MS certified members in all classifications) you are NOT listed anywhere. Is This is another lie you post Mr Quarterman! If you are, post it on your website or on here like several have asked. This is nothing to be concerned about privacy - it is something you should want all to see. You say "So what if a Republican administration controlled Georgia and named a county after a Black person -- where later a group of white democrats fought to have changed (that’s politics)" Georgia had NO representation in Washington DC at this time of reconstruction and Ga. was controlled by the Union forces/ or c a r p e t b a g g e r s. here is the correct maps and site info that is the stated on the site as the truth; Douglas County was created from Campbell and Carroll counties on Oct. 17, 1870 by an act of the General Assembly (Ga. Laws 1870, p. 13). Subsequently, Douglas County's borders with Carroll, Cobb, and Paulding counties were adjusted by acts in 1871, 1874, and 1877. Georgia's 133rd county was named for Illinois U.S. Senator Stephen Douglas (1847-1861). Douglas ran unsuccessfully as the Democratic Party's presidential nominee in 1860 with Georgia's Herschel Johnson as his running mate. http://www.cviog.uga.edu/Projects/gainfo/hist... and here is the corrected map once "true representation" was reestablished after the "reconstruction period" ended and the "Union dominated political process" was eliminated. http://www.cviog.uga.edu/Projects/gainfo/hist... It was well know the North dominated the South and pushed the "Yankee" agenda on the State of Ga. |

and how about this;
J. Franklin Lee v. James and Felicia Quarterman, Douglas County State Court, 05SV00418. This is a case where a jury found the quarterman's guilty of doing $8,741.97 in damages to rental property. I guess it was the white mans fault he damaged this owners property. Your such a mental case. more to come! |
