I see that the Catfish Den is open. Does anyone know if it is the orignal Catfish Den? And, is the food good?

It just reopened on the 10th, not sure who management is. It'll be in a good location once the new east bypass gets finished but that won't start till sometime this winter and should be finished by 2012.

It'll start at hwy 92 at Bill Carruth, right near the Catfish Den, and circle around to 278 near Cleburne Parkway. It should help lighten traffic through Hiram and the 92/278 intersection. Signs went up the end of the summer stating construction would start in the fall but it appears to have been delayed a bit. Construction continues on the widening of the west bypass from 278 to near the water treatment plant.

I work at Catfish Den and it is a new local owner he owns johnys b-b-q in powdersprings he is traditional type of guy if your not satisfied he will be sure you are before you leave. The food is great i personally dont eat fish that often but the chicken is great as well as the hush puppies. I advise everyone to at least try it one time. I assure you that you will not leave unsatisfied!

We are waiting in the insurance. The owner is looking at several places in Douglasville. I will be glad when we reopen. I sure miss that place. I love the people and the food

Hey, Ruby Tuesday's place or the Old Rodeo place (both on Hwy 5)are empty! Maybe they would be a good location... Or even the old Smokey Bones place, then again there is the old Alpine Steak House place...I even think there is a place in the Villa Rica Publix strip mall....

Man...you definitely have choices!

We have checked on several of those places. They are to out of the price range. Smokey Bones wants $17,000 a month. But, we are going to stay in Douglasville. We hope to see everyone soon too. I miss everyone so much. I will keep you posted. Thank you!!

What's to become of the old location? Its condition can't be getting better and it'll become an eyesore right in the middle of town.

The building must be torn down. The insurance company is getting bids now to tear it down. We hope that by the 1st of the month the insurance company will have a company picked to tear it down. The condition is really bad inside. It must come down for safety and beautification reasons. Maybe that will bring closure and Magnolia Cafe will have a fresh start.
