WSB is first reported that a burning suv was found near Arbor Station with a body inside but now they are saying that the body isn't dead but alive with a gunshot wound to the head. Any other news?

Witnesses saw several people running from the scene right before they noticed the SUV on fire. The crime here is getting out of control. I am sick of it, and seriously ready to move.
All I know if the person shot is a 21 yr old male according to the news. I have no clue if he is from here or out in Atlanta somewhere, and brought here to be murdered.

This is sick and disgusting!!! I was talking to someone today about crime. They said that we should just get used to it. HELL NO, I don't have to get used to it. WE need to get rid of drugs and put criminals in JAIL and use the DEATH PENALTY!

And when they are put in jail make sure they stay there!! And if the jails are full and overcrowded then build more. They don't need to have cable, a/c, heat, TV, or any other luxury in the jail, use that money to build more jails. All these a$$holes need is a 10X10 cell with a slim mattress on the floor and a toilet, and feed them bread and water and that's it!! Also Sheriff Miller needs to be more aggressive, he can start by doing a warrant sweep. I guarantee you a lot of the people committing these crimes already have outstanding warrants.

2 Males eh? Why is this the standard description of criminals? Gender and nothing more. Why are we SO afraid of offending people by revealing who the criminals are? CF

On the surface it appears to be either a carjacking or drugs since the other two were in the car.

“One of our witnesses came forward and said they heard the car accelerating very heavily, and if that went on for some time, that might have radiated enough heat to ignite some type of fire, so that’s a possibility too,”

What the hell kinda quote in that??? Maybe a martian fired his laser ray at it too. The guy had a bullet hole in his head....

you can hear it at radioreference.com on the douglas county scanner feed archive 5/11/2010 beginning around 4:30 pm

the car was on fire with an unresponsive male (gunshot wound) inside. Someone pulled him from the vehicle. The police seemed to recognize the man from a recent (within the last week) domestic situation in that area. I do not believe they ever said the victim's name on the air. Dogs were used to track where the people who ran from the scene went...the police did check at least one home in the area.

Sadly, most crime in Douglas Co. is related to domestic situations (fights between neighbors, family etc) and/or is committed by someone the victims knew.

In this case, I think the police KNOW who, but want air tight evidence before coming forward with charges - so the perps can't say they were profiled, mistaken identity etc...

Yeah. The car accelerating thing got to me too. While a car can certainly, I suppose, spontaneously combust, I would think it unlikely to catch fire due to simply sitting while idling. Even at a high idle for a long amount of time, why would that cause a fire? Unless maybe the car had issues prior to the incident. I mean, don't mechanics have to idle cars for several minutes at high rates too? Eh, doesn't make sense to me but then again, I'm not a mechanic so...

The problem is the brass at the sheriff office they don't want their people to be aggressive so they don't make people mad even the thugs due to VOTES. These people don't vote and most don't live in this county to vote. Take the leash off and let the police and deputies go after these thugs and clean up this county NOW!!!!

No, you don't know. The "Brass" like to keep the voters happy, not the scum that move here and cause trouble. They're non tax paying, non voter registered trash. The "Brass" don't care if they offend the thugs.

The usual speculation... jumping to conclusions before full facts are known. Bottom line will be known when the full report is issued.

Even in a high mileage car, holding the accelerator to the floor would take 15-20 minutes before it could even come close to generating enough heat under the hood to cause hoses (most of the fuel lines are metal) to weaken or anything else to ignite. A car is designed to sit in 100+ degree weather for hours in a traffic jam, idling and not causing a fire. I suppose it's possible if a piece of trash was stuck against the manifold but then again the space shuttle falling on it is also possible.

A more plausable explaination, considering that two were seen running from the scene and there was a gun shot wound to the head of the victim, is that they shot him and he reacted by pushing on the gas peddle. Then they lit the car to hide the crime. But we don't want to contaminate the investigation and instead we'll say it was the randomness of the universe. Maybe it was a suicide and he hit the accelerator knowing someday it would ignite the car, hiding his crime and he invited two friends along for moral support.

Moral support - now that's funny! I say add this to the "Earl Lee Story." This is some crazy, scary stuff.
