We have been using Dr. Grant (Publix shopping center on Hwy 5) Grant Orthodontics for over a year now and have had wonderful results. The staff is very helpful, cost was very reasonable & Dr. Grant is very thorough. I recommend them highly.

do you not trust your dentist? and just because you havent heard it doesnt mean it has never happened. if you trust your dentist and their staff then their wellfare is in good hands and the dentist and their staff would not have you in their way while they are trying to do their job. anyway everyone had gotten so far off the subject which was....anyone know of a good ORTHODONTIST?
Yes I did and I sat in the room every time my kids occupied a chair and my dentist at that time was more than understanding happy to accommodate me.

I ran into this issue of not wanting parents around in another state. One reason is because when you're not in the room you don't get to see the plastic appliance they attach to your child's head to pry his mouth open while keeping them immobile. Children have no concept of torture devices from the dark ages, so they accept it ultimately and somehow the staff manages to gloss over the whole event so your kid never mentions the event.

I don't give a crap what they say, my children are never out of my sight. I want to be there if they make a mistake, it's part of my accepted job as a parent. But more than that, I get a creepy feeling from anyone wanting to pull this sort of crap. Any time they don't want parents around they surely know some of us are going to react.

The dentist that i take my kid too, is the one that has a toothbrush in front of the office on hwy 5. I went to him when i was youger(when i was their age). His name is Mr Helman, he is really nice and he has been here for a long time(about 30 years or so). I don't have to wait to long. My kids be in and out about 30 minutes. I like a dentist like that. I had expernice a dentist on hwy 5, next to papa' john pizza, i think it's call children detist of atlanta, something like that. I was their twice(2) with my kid, and we was their for 2 1/2 hours, to take exrays and seeing the dentist too. I told myself i am not doing this again so i change dentist. I can't stand staying in a office that long with a young child.

Dr. Bruce Camp in Villa Rica is excellent. Many of my students used him, and my own two kids had their braces through his office. He is really into explaining each procedure to parents and he does an excellent job of telling the kids what he is doing and why.

I find it amusing when you speak up to a Dentist, and tell them you want to have done before they start charging you for procedures that aren't needed they kick you to the curb.Coastal Dental in powder springs cracked my front tooth when giving me a filling now I am stuck with a cracked tooth and probably will have to pay another Dentist for what he screwed up on.The reason he threw me out because I told him about what he did x-rays don't lie.I want to file complaints on this Dentist but to who?I want this Dentist to know he has to pay for what he has done to me and others that don't bother to file a complaint.Any good suggestions.Dental costs are to expensive as it is without him getting away with his crappy work.I guess I will go to Tallapoosa and get a good ole boy dentist that isn't in with places like Nanston,Coastal etc.

Dr. Camp is not an orthodontist; he is a general dentist that does braces

I like Dr. Mark Justice in Lithia Springs. It has been some time, but, he made me a night guard for TMJ issues some time ago. He was nice, seemed well informed (latest technology wise) and professional.
He recently did a consultation on my daughter regarding spacers - the tech was very friendly, my daughter really liked her.
i agree mark justice is a very good orthodontists some of his staff is angry somnetimes but most of them are good.

<quoted text>It is the osha law and most parents do not help the situation most of the time they make it worse!!!! Let the kid learn to do things on their own they do not always need u hovering gimme a break!!!! Do you work in the dental field? Probably not you are probably just an annoying mom that thinks she knows it all. When you dont know jack!! These rules are put in place for the safety of the patients and staff. And honestly you know nothing about what is going on in the procedure.
Yeah, my daughter never went there - but any dentist or doctor that says I can't be in the room - NO WAY. Nope, not gonna happen.
The "your kid might behave better if you weren't present" reasoning is weak. Kids may play the drama card more if a parent is present - but no one can spot the drama card like mom, either. And this mom doesn't play it!

Really they never leave your sight? Do you watch them go to the restroom too? I work for an orthodontist thay alot of you are complementing here on this site. Let me tell you for the first couple of first time visits are ok for you to come back SOMETIMES depending on your reactions. You make it worse when you come back we try to develop a good relationship for the child so they can get comfortable with us they need to learn to answer their own questions not you that way they will feel comfortable with us do you understand also it is regulations in all offices so if you are going back every time then your dentist is breaking osha regulations and not to mention its just nasty when you come back hovering over sterile instruments and your childs mouth you get in the way and that makes it hard for us to work which intensifies any nervous energy from you to your kid let your kid learn some things on his own. osha is there for a reason stay out of the back!!!!!!!!!!
