Where is the Tea Party in this area? I did the facebook thing with the Douglasville T.P. and they haven't posted or done anything. Nothing in this forum even mentioned the Tea Party since November! Are we just going to sit back and wait for the fall of our Republic or be active in this area and do our part to save this once great nation?
There should be a local meeting at least once a month. Find "Tom Jeffers" on face book and lets get this party started people...or remain silent and watch the nation fall around us.

I heard a couple months ago that the woman in charge of it stole money so the other people quit.
Then I heard from somebody else that she made a business out of it and was keeping other people from starting a new one. I don't know if this is true its just what I heard.

I went to help a friend who volunteered at that last one and the woman in charge (don't know her name) was rude and nasty to everyone. My friend said she would never have anything to do with the tea party again. The tea party was good too bad something like this happened.

Probably Maureen Miller - I think that's the woman. It is a shame, because the TEA party overall is not about personal fiefdoms, which she tried to make it for her favored candidate.

The Tea Party re elected Bill Hembree who has voted for every tax increase we have had in Georgia. I'm not sure what good they are.

If this is true then the county GOP is in trouble because she is their treasurer! I think she also has some kind of Republican group and they put on the t party. Wonder how much she made off that? How do people like that get people to trust them? They lie!

So if this particular branch has problems, what is to stop others from starting a legitamate branch? We canít let one bad apple spoil the fact that there are probably many Douglasville citizens that would rally around this issue and do some good for our country and community.

You must understand Mrs. Miller is far from a professional. The Douglas County TEA Party lacked leadership, yes there were back and forth between the organizers, I don't know anything about the money concerns but I know that if this organization was handled in a democratic way as with other organizations by having a board in place to govern it's progress instead of one lady spearheading the directions of her interests it would be more productive.

The Tea Party is the party for the ignorant, bigoted and small-minded. Given that it doesn't surprise me that no one involved can muster up the skills to get things organized.

No worries here, we know that you are NOT Bill in D'Ville as he would not have made a statement such as yours.... and he would have asked if someone was hot!

Ah, the slander bunch is at it again. Why don't you call the police with you stories if the money was stolen?

Oh, I know why you don't. Because it's a lie, like all the other slanderous posts on other forums you had to take down.

Childish and pathetic!!!

<quoted text>
While I'm wallowing in the mud here. How could it be about one candidate? There were no politicians that spoke at the last event. Herman Cain spoke at both. He was not a candidate at that time.

So what happens at a Tea Party meeting anyway?

Do they start out with something like this:

I pledge allegiance to David Koch and the United Corporations of America. I will do my best to not become educated or intelligent enough to figure out that I am a pawn. I further pledge to never put people before money.

Something like that?

so bill, i take it you have nothing to say that's good about the tea party? bill the other one, you must think the same of the tea party?
i am not in disagreement or agreement in regards to either way. do you feel the same way as in regards to the extreme far left?
you have the right to believe either way. was just wondering if you felt the negativity towards the left as well as the right. that's all.

personally i do not like anyone. i wish we could gut the system, eliminate anyone with over 5 years residence in d.c.
then get people in there that are in business or run one. eliminate all handout entitlements and gimmies.
my motto, anything you get from the government was taken from someone else. saw that on a bumper sticker the other day.
what say you?

Hey..Bill and Bill-the other one are the same person..

I think it's clear at this stage that me (Bill) and Bill in Dville will never be confused as the same person.

I'm with you to a large degree, NOT PC. Our governement is no longer "For the People". In fact, it's largely "Corporations Against the People"...and a great deal of the arguing between people here is over topics that they WANT us to argue over, because it keeps us from getting to what's important.

I think we need to keep bills limited to one thing, and one thing only. Vote Yes or No and let us judge our Congress by their voting records.. not all these line-item tie-ins.

Should we raise the debt ceiling or cause total economic hardship, Aye or Nay?

Should the mega-rich pay lower taxes than most americans? Aye or Nay?

Should we destroy the environment? Aye or Nay?

Should we spend more than we make? Aye or Nay?

Do we let our old, sick, and poor drop dead in the streets? Aye or Nay?

As opposed to

Should we allow Corporation X to poison people so they can make money? Nay? Really? What if we donate 20 million to your campaign?

Keep it simple.

We need to get rid of lobbyists and huge corporate campaign contributions.

We need to dismantle the Party system.

This country needs to be looking out for Americans again, not just corporate interests.

I'm with you. I don't like any of this monkey business. To a large degree Washington is now the peoples enemy.

Slander? You mean libel?

Good luck with that cause no one has actually accused anyone of anything. If you read back through the posts, somebody said they heard something about someone and then another person chimes in and says it's probably this person.

Doesn't sound like any one person has accused anyone of anything. More like word has gotten out about a very unsavory person and people put two & two together to conclude who that person might be.
