OMG what is wrong with you people? If it was not for this Dr., I could not even get out of bed or would be in a wheelchair.

Before you get the treatments, they call your insurance company to get approved.

He is strict on giving our pain meds. You have to be hurting or have something serious to get them.

You could fake it and get them, but not sure how.

I cried in his office recently because I could not
get another treatment until net year, per the insurance company.

It hurts so bad I can not walk. The pain meds make you sick after a while. Make you feel bad, ill, hungry and you can not sleep well.

But if you are really in pain, you have to have them. I could not imagine life without having something.

I do think someone is mad because he turned them DOWN on pain meds or did not give them what they wanted.

My ortho said he could not operate. It was not worth the risk, and the odds are aginst me. THIRD opinions said the same thing.

Don't judge this man until you REALLY need him.

Dr. Patel, thank you for helping people like me. I am scared. I don't kow what I would do without you. I am thankful my ortho sent me to you.

This Doctor is kown for treating patients. There are other places people can go if they just want pain meds.

Stop bashing him, as people like me depend on him to live, or have a life at all.
No RX Help Kroger Publix

Why do pharmacies like Kroger and Publix (all locations) mistreat people who come to them to turn in any type of precription?
Why do they make you wait hours or DAYS to get a RX filled? Normal pharmacies take only a few minutes.
Why do they suggest you go shop while they fill your rx?
Who wants to shop when they are sick or feel bad, or need to get home to a sick child or love one, with much needed medicine?
Why can they never FIND your RX when you come to pick it up?
Why do they change the prices on you with no notice?
Why do they not give you what you ask for, but only give you what they want you to have?
Why do they give you a lecture, ask questions, and get in your personal business?
Why do they ignore you when you come up to the counter. talk on the phone, text, do makeup, comb their hair, EAT, when you need help?
Why are they ALL so rude?
Why do they add nasty notes in the computer beside your names?(Answer that one Kroger Techs.)
Saving a few dollars is not worth it to shop at these pharmacies. You spend more on gas coming back and in time than it is worth.
They take customers for granted and they do not want to be there.
Thy take advantage of Seniors. It needs to stop.

I don't know about the difference in billing ~ sounds to me like something to take up with your insurance carrier! That is IF you have any. If NOT, I will try to find some time when I am done WORKING to see how much it cost you (I mean me)to have these "epidurals" done!!It really is simple, that is unless you are drug seeking, to fix the problem ~ ASK-ASK-ASK, your doctors and your insurance carrier what is covered and what is not. They will even give you an estimated out of pocket. They should refer you to health care provider that is in network as well as the clinc. Every doctor can not possibly know what ins you have, what is covered, who is in network and not for every pt that comes to them. Seek advice from the billing dept, I assure you no doctor looks at any of that stuff!! The pay people to do that!
You have your facts wrong. He just started charging under a different I.D. for the surgery center he has his certificate hanging up as of last week, the ink hasn't even dried yet.

He is charging 7,000 for an epidural after he has charged your insurance for the procedure he get's more from the surgical center.

He is worried about your inurance if your not covered you are not a patient. You said you worked for him obviously if he was such a great Doctor you would still be there.

Go visit Bonnie at the Douglasville Office, and let her tell you what robot's they have turned into and scared for the job they have.

He is a greedy Doctor that prey on the patients that have insurance.I was a patient for 10 years,he has been reported for Insurance fraud,John Oxendine,is also involved.Patel, thinks he can beat the system but he is mistaken.

You said in your post ask ask?If you have been getting the same procedure for many years an "EPIDURAl" how is the patient to know he is billing differently, that should be told to the patient. As far as the insurance company if they have been paying the same amount for a epidural believe me they wouldn't approve another charge of 7,000.I get no medication from this guy and I won't pay for his family in India to buy another "CAMEL".You dear pay nothing out of your pocket from working at Burger King to pay for my BILL...

Really Are you Kidding Me,
It is indeed an honor to be in the presence of sommeone of you great intelligence. As a matter of fact I would indeed like to be in your physical presence when you choose to include my wife in your ill informed rant about Douglas County citizens. Also your unsubstantiated 75% figure could use some of your straight facts. Actually that means you have only 3/4 insulted me. Tell you what, I'll tie one arm behind my back and just use 3/4 of my appendages to whip your uniformed little butt. But don't worry, I am 67 years old and you must be at least 12. To the rest of the people here, I apologize. My intent has always to take the high road, but this person sorta pushed my buttons.

If you do not know anything about the billing then why are you running your mouth about a subject you know nothing about? The doctor has a contract with the insurance companies so I assure you he knows what is in network.
Also, did you miss the part about Jill's insurance? What a self righteous little waste you are.And ASK? No duh, that is why you make sure he is in network. The office staff never says anything about billing through an out of network clinic.Where else will he do an epidural at your house? And we know what an epidural is.You know that needle they stick in your spine.Glad you cleared that up,I thought that was my flu shot.I also had 3 epidurals and ALL 3 were more money each time. The last one was $5000.How can you make sure the clinic is in network when you never even know until the bills come in.So if you do not know about the billing, shut the hell up!

certifiable1...I don't know or care who the hell you or your wife is!
Quiton...this is for you too! I am very well aware and informed on the subject. I worked as a licensed professional in pain mgt for several yrs' It is wonderful for people that hold up their end and get off their asses and lose some wt, strengthen their core, do not abuse the drugs, and have a genuine drive to get better. I have seen many people that not only did not need meds any longer but resumed activities such as tennis and jogging!
NO ~ Your dr doesn't know what ins you have or what it pays. He has contracts with MANY insurance companys. Find me 1 dr that can tell me what ins EVERY one of his pts has, and what they will have to pay for and I will testify that Tiger Woods did NOT cheat on his wife!!!
My dr recently prescribed Levaquin for a URI I had, it is not formulary for my ins so it had the highest co-pay. Did he purposely give a script to me that was more expensive???UNLIKELY!!! He was very willing to call something different for me that was cheaper.
If you know Dr. Patel is billing under a non-contracted clinic and you say (each one keeps costing more..........why would you continue to got there?? Seems like an absurd decision on your part.
Boss ~ sorry I can't qoute a price for oxvcontin....as the drug doesn't exist!!

Really,
I must commend you on your badside manner. Next time you Goggle a subject to pretend you are something, I would suggest you read it. Oh, by the way "many people" is not a quantifiable data point. Now as to someone "holding up their end and getting off the asses" is either redundant or physically impossible. You can stop telling us how well informed you are unless it is yourself you are trying to convince. This is kinda fun, but mean spirited.

A real mystery here. You don't even get the first epidural bill until all three are done.Hmmmmm Wonder why that is.The billing people know exactly who pays what & they deliberately don't tell you they bill under a different ID.I asked two different times about my insurance and the exact words were:Yes Dr. Patel is in your network.
YOU know as well as everyone on this thread that he knows EXACTLY what he is doing and beating everyone out of every nickel even charging $1.50 to pay him his $1000's of dollars with a credit card.I am an old guy & have never had any of this happen at any of my Drs. Just drop it,he is unethical, dishonest and greedy. You working a few years in pain management has NOTHING to do with knbowing Dr. Patel. If you are so qualified, why aren't you working for Patel.Or are you? You sure are defensive for someone that dosen't even work for him or use him. If you are not a patient or employee, please shut up & go away, your general opinion has nothing to do with this DR.

Pain management doctors turn people into drug addicts. I went to one after an ankle surgery that did not go well and I was suffering pretty severe nerve pain. The doctor I used was willing to write a prescription for whatever I wanted. He asked me what I wanted to try. He prescribed a lot that I never had filled. I opted for a nerve pain medication that worked and was not a narcotic. At one time, I had prescriptions for vicodin, lyrica, demerol, flexeril and morphine. Please excuse my spelling if there are errors. I think pain management doctors need to work a little differently. Somebody should be going behind them to see what they are writing. Don't you wonder why the drug of choice right now is prescription pain pills (opiates)? They are easy to find, either everyone has their own stash from their doctor or they get them and sell them. It makes me sick to think about it.
I'm curious what doctor you used. I live in the same area and had a doctor that sounds like the same one.I found a great doctor now and if you interested , let me know. Thanks so much.

Ann - I think Kamath is the one I saw. I don't really blame him, I think they are pretty much all that way. I just think someone should be overseeing what they write and for how much. I have a niece that is 23 and suffers from degenerative disc desease. Some creep is wrting her a script for 90 Xanex a month along with an entire butt load of pain medicine. You can see where this is going right?
