Douglas county has been screwed by elite whites who sold their own community out to make a buck. They're doing the opposite of handing everything to white Americans. Exactly, where's all these advantages I'm supposed to have for being white? I had to pay for my own college, food, home and I was taxed the entire time. Now the schools are trying to teach my children the same crap. My kids have eyes and ears and they know a lie when they hear it. They see how SOME kids in school are treated and how it compares to how others are treated. I relocated to Douglas County near Hwy. 5 earlier this year. Bought a house. If I had it to do all over again, I would be looking to buy in Carroll or Haralson County. I hear that many of D'villes problems started around the time Arbor Place was built...sad to hear that if its so...AP is a nice mall and the area has much potential.

We close on our house in less than 2 weeks, we've plugged in to a church we love, made a few great friends, started our job/business, and we LOVE it here. Thanks for the helpful posts. I give you 2 years or less....you'll realize you have made a mistake. Of course I have lived in Douglas County for 34 years and have watched what has happened some good but the last 12 years bad.

Sorry you see it as negativity Mandie.ButI have watched the beautiful country side of DC become closed stores and run down buildings and homes. Yes I believe in some progress but this WAS a rural area and the people that made our small communities a welcome haven are gone and it will never return. I am a "country" gal at heart and all the "country" is gone from this area. You have no idea how beautiful Hwy 5 was before Atlanta started growing out this way. I am no longer comfortable with the way our county government is ran here either. And yes I have voted in every election since I was 18.. Maybe you and others like you can and will make it into a mini city but for me I do not like city life. Like I said I have lived here for 54 yrs and have been involved in the school system ( which have gone down hill over the years) and churches here and have found it isn't my cup of tea.
Maybe you can continue the progress here and make it really part of Atlanta and places like Clayton County with all the crime and proverty it brings (only joking of course LOL).

I'm sure your comments here will be totally welcomed and mine will be welcomed in friendly Alabama.In the area we are moving everyone lives in a humble manner and there are not others who think they are better than them.
