your property has dropped 18% in value over the last year.Has douglas county reduced your tax bill to reflect this? Maybe otyu should ask about it.They wil sure RAISE it if your property increases 18%.

I bet money that some of us are going to have our properties reappraised and raised this year. Anyone who faces that reality should hire a good attorney! Funny thing is they wouldn't adjust business taxes before. Now that businesses are suffering they'll probably get off their arses and stick the with higher taxes when it hurts most. You guys really need to get Tommy Worthan out before its too late and he retires to his lake house.

Are you out of your mind? Our choices are a crazy Russian and an absolutely insane James Quarterman. If someone comes along better than Worthan then that's fine. These two do not have a clue. Clayton county will seem as though it is run by Ruppert Murdock compared to either one of these two.

I know for a fact that some douglas county homes have been reasessed for more. My parents have already filed the apeal for theirs. It almost doubled from last year, and absolutely nothing has changed about their home this last year. Just more greed. It would help if EVERYONE in the county who had a higher asessment fought it, preferably united. It is an election year, and the squeaky wheel.......

when you bought into mirror lake, you got ripped a new butthole. You thought you were going to try to live the life of a big shot.WHat actually happened was the developers and sellers of th subd.laughed all the way to the bank. You bought in a kudzu field, behind a african american development that had been there 60 years. The realtors brought you in from theother direction so you wouldnt see it.You bought some WAY over priced houses for villa rica, so now oyu can live up to your name as a big shot and pay some BIG SHOT taxes. The rest of vila rica natives are laughing at you for being so stupid.

You wonj't see tax appraisals come out before the election. Dougl County is hurting for money and Tom and the county attorney have found a "loop hole" to repeal the freezing of your house values as long as you live in it, which was voted on by Douglas County Tax payers. Douglas County is as I hear it on the furge of Brankruptcy so I don't see how Igor or even James can be worse than Tom.

the police are stopping and searching every car on the interstate in hopes they will find a huge mother load of money to bail out the county.

More likely they are hoping to find a motherload of money they can deposit in a DC account at the bank Tommy Worthless and his cronies own to help bail the bank out after making too many loans to builders.

The assessment process is being abused.

Some properties have not been properly reassessed in over 15 years according to the Tax Assessor's office.(why then aren't they fixing these first before raising your assessment AGAIN.)

In a time when home values are dropping across the board, why are the assessments rising?

Two years ago, the Chamber claimed commercial properties were under assessed in the county, yet residential values continue to be reassessed higher.

Total malfeasance and dereliction of duty. Not to mention a nice way to stick it to your political opponents and their supporters!

Just wait and see,

Lame Duck Tom Worthless will really gouge you with the millage rate after he loses the primary.

I've not heard anything about cutting the budgets, so get out the KY, you're really going to get it this year.
