This absolutely breaks my heart!:(:(:( You cannot know how important you have been to our family over the years! I guess Kindle and Audible win, but what a shallow, soulless, obnoxious victory.

Thanks Obama! This figures doesn't it, though? I mean, those who voted for Obama are the sames ones who wouldn't dare to pick up a book in the first place. Oh, they may use a phone book now and again; to find a tattoo parlor, stripper bar or BAIL BONDS PLACE, but never to simply read. The above businesses are taking this town down while the decent ones, like Borders, are being made obsolete. Thanks Obama, and all who voted for him. You KNOW who you are.

WOW, I'm not an Obama supporter but I think you are blowing this WAY OUT OF PROPORTION! The reason why stores like Borders are closing is the same reason that CD sales are way down. It's called the Internet. The Internet has made book stores and music stores obsolete! The same goes for libraries, newspapers etc...

I'm not surprised. I like going in there to browse, but browsing does not pay their bills. How can they possibly compete with Amazon?

I wonder what they will put there next. It seems like the move-outs fill pretty quickly.

Did we feel as sorry for the typewriter and adding machine repairmen when they lost their jobs to technology? What about all those manglers who went jobless? What jobs can anyone hope to hold under the advance of progress? Teacher? Doctor? Lawyer? Food cart vendor?

Loser. How anyone's twisted brain can equate this to Obama defies logic.

i hate it. i love to read. holding a computer is no comparison to holding a paperback book. that's why i keep all my books. no one is getting them.

I see one of the OBama-ites has chimed in here. So, Obama wants to tax the rich to save the poor(obviously YOU are poor???)This would include corporations, correct? Corps are rich, right? I mean, he raised the tax rate of corps and many are now running to other countries for more cost effective production. Those that can't, put themselves up for sale (Borders!!!) and if a buyer cannot be found (Borders!!!) they go under. Obama believes in "spreading the wealth" HIS words genius. Not mine. So how is this NOT his fault? If not directly, then it is by indirect means. How many people do you know have lost their jobs due to business closure this year alone, Genius? This IS his fault. He's had three years to pull us out and instead he uses his seat to take vacations and golf as people who voted for him (YOU) suffer and still give him a break. Morons.
