I've never had a great experience at any of the salons around here... But one does stick out as a bad experience - Liquyd Salon (or however they spell it). I had an appointment with them and when I showed up, they were CLOSED! They'd all left early, screw my appointment!

Kari... I am a stylist at Lyquyd salons... And I am confused as to what happened .. I am at the salon all the time and well past the hours on the door... I am so sorry for what happened and if u would like to call the shop and make an appt for a cut and style with me I would be willing to do it for free to make up for the misunderstanding ..

Dear Daughter goes to Lyquid....she seems very happy. I'm more of a Cut n Up type of mom. I've been going there for several years.

I was pretty upset because when the salon was on up 92 (near the subdivision) I got the best haircut I've ever gotten there and that's why I'd made the appointment. I do really appreciate your offer and I'd love to take you up on it. I ended up going that night to Cuttin Up and just nobody can get the cut right... so it'd be awesome to be able to come back to Lyquyd knowing that you guys will take care of your customers. Again thanks a lot! I'll be seein' ya soon for an a-line!

No No NO First time ok, then wham! Next time they will f up your hair. NO NO NO more DC. They ruined my daughters hair. He did not highlight it right the second time and he cut corners. Then he way over cut her layers for no reason. It looks terrible now. They can not be trusted. It is hit and miss at Davis. Go to Atlanta people. Dville stylists needs to put down the ...before seeing customers.

I've had REALLY bad experiences at a lot of places around here. I like getting blond and dark brown highlights however every time they do it my roots ends up red or copper. Im afraid to get my hair done again. I've tried several of the upper end Dville places, most recent was Bliss.(watch out its dark in there, and that hides your actual hair color). I've tried Pat's, Cutting Edge, Bliss and Davis Clay. Granted, Davis Clay did do a great job on my hair (highlights and cut), but they lied about the price. I had a 10 minute consult where she told me all about my cut, style, color and how often I need to come back. I asked ok, how much will this all cost me. She told me $105. I had $125 cash with me so I knew I would be good for the fee and a tip. She told me she had time to do it right then and I had the money so I agreed. She did my hair and did a great job and then she told the cashier "go ahead and ring her up for $125 and give her some referral cards" I said "$125" she said "yes, I'm giving u a new customer discount" I told her we had agreed on $105, she stated that she has to charge separate for her cuts. So my heart sank (why wasnt I told this before I agreed to the service) and I had to give the cashier $125 I had.(so she got no tip) I was mad and felt cheated and I can't go back to her bc I didn't tip her and I'm afraid it could be a $50 lie next time. Had she of told me the real cost up front I would have waited till I had my credit cards on me (I left them at home not thinking I was getting my hair done). I would pay that price without issue, if thats was what we agreed upon. I guess hair salons are as bad as car dealerships now. Need a no hassle, haggle, no screwup place.

So VERY long story short, no, there are no Good places to get your hair done in Dville. I'd run to another county.

Whats wrong DC? All of your bad acts catching up to you? You do lie about the price, you do mess up girls hair out of jealousy, and you have to be MADE to fix it. You sent one girl out with BLACK HAIR after she came in for BLONDE!!!!!!!!!!It was so bad she had to wear a HAT! Deny that! I will bust you out!

Have had bad experiences at most places in D'ville. I go in looking okay and leave looking ridiculous! The worst was a stylist at Cuttin Up on Hwy 5. Even showed her a pic of what I wanted. She cut my layers a good two inches shorter that I wanted and when I realized what she was doing and tried to stop her, it was too late. Was going on vacation the next week and she actually ruined it for me. Would not let anyone take a pic of me the whole trip.
Most will try to wet and wash your hair before even doing any type of consultation. How can you tell what someone wants, their type of hair, when their hair is wet. I have no one to recommend. Sad!

I quit trying to get my hair colored professionally around here and just do it myself with better results. the salon on Chapel Hill road turned my hair orange and actually said "it looks so good". I asked them to redo, they toned it down a little but I had to put another color on it at home to get the carrot color out of it. At Louna's, asked for a light brown, picked out a color from a selection she showed me, and got brassy blond. Asked her to please tone it down, she did tone it down some. Still not at all what I went in there for. Still blond!
I don't know where to go.......

Sorry, it may be called the Cutting Edge(out on Hwy 5) not Cuttin Up.

Amy, almost my same issues. I do mine myself every other time (more lately bc I'm scared to go anywhere). I can only pull mine in a cap and add blond. I'm not doing dark bc I'm afraid it will be green. I don't want to be too blond so I have to get assistance.

While at Bliss a few weeks ago the stylist kept saying she was a master stylist and it's why she is more expensive. I just wanted the proof to be in the color and cut. Both are awful! Cut was only a trim but she did this cutting thing over my head and ended up cutting hairs on the side and rear the same length as my tapered front(like a bang that angles down to the longer hairs. Starting around my noes) now I have heard that should be full length in the back that are as long as my ones that go to my noes.
My color is that brass/copper color. I specifically told her I just didn't want to be red/brass colored. She assured me she used cool colors so it wouldn't happen. Guess what? It doesn't take a master stylist to see the new brass highlights. So needless to say, that Salon has been crossed off my list. I miss Arde's Salon in Gwinnett county. She was amazing, my hair has not been done as well as she did since she moved to Detroit 5 years ago.(She charged $70 for a full highlight and cut) I didn't know what I had till she left.

Sad that a lot of women out here in Douglas county have money to spend (monthly or bimonthly) but no one wants to take the time to do a job right and accept our money.

I wonder if there is anyone worth trying in Villa Rica?

I've had nothing but great experiences at Chastain & Co. at The Landing. They're a little "Southern", but I come out with flawless hair and my stylist always does EXACTLY what I ask her to. Plus, for $30 for a cut, you can't beat it.

Going to a new one next week in Villa Rica, not in Doomesville, for a cut and highlights. Will let you know how they do.
Cross fingers. Save your money ladies, and stop being cheated for what we pay for.

I just got a $16 haircut at Chapel Hills Salon, which is same cut that I get at a MS. Gulf Coast casino spa for $65 (comped). I am very critical of haircuts since my mother owned a salon and always kept my blond hair in perfect curls. After seeing the movie, A Star is Born,(1976) I went back to the blond curly look. Never being happy with the retouch of the blond roots at the hair salons I chose to do it my self with the Clairol Maxi-Blond kit.

yes please let me know. Ive heard of one near publix on liberty rd but I can't find a lot of reviews.(could be a good thing as more people will share horror hair stories vs great service, but its always scary trying new unknown places)
Good Luck!!
