Fox5 is on the scene at the Douglas County Sheriff's Dept. The Sheriff's Dept has approx 60 party attendees on a bus waiting to be questioned.
The party was at a home on Independence Court in the Cedar Mountain area.
The parents are upset because the police confiscated cell phones and are keeping the kids on the bus.
I have several thoughts on this.
The kids were rounded up at 1 am. If these are teenagers, where were their parents that they were still out at a party at that hour?
Where were the owners of the home?
I am really dismayed at the actions of parents and their children these days.

Doesn't seem like a good neighborhood. Same subdivision where the pit bull attack took place back in July.

They are now saying the kids were 17 to 20 years old.
As many as 80 people may have been at the party.

It used to be a great neighborhood, I lived there for several years and was involved with the now defunct homeowners association. Because of the rural location, we had a terrible time getting any responce from county services such as sheriffs dept and zoning. When we would call we'd get a cursory visit and then they'd go away. Once the Sec 8 came in it all went to crap although there were incidents before. A guy lost his job, got drunk in the middle of the day and as his girlfriend drove the car, he shot at oncoming traffic and houses in this subdivision.(white trash) Two brothers got in a fight and went after each other with chainsaws on the front lawn.(more white trash) Another neighbor dispute resulted in one guy shooting 13 rounds into his neighbors house.(black trash)

This is absolutely terrible. I vowed to be a parent and not a friend to my children. Boundaries must be set from the very beginning to let the children know where parents stand. Children are doing any and everything these days and some parents think these actions are cute. I believe the court system should hold the parents accountable.

One of my closest friends lived in that neighborhood for years, and luckily sold their house. They wanted out of there, due to how bad the neighborhood had become. Other than this death and the pit bull attack, there was something else that took place in there within the past yr. I can't pin point exactly what it was, since so much seems to happen in there now.
Why does it always seem like someone is murdered when a large group of young black folks get together for a party? This happens in Atlanta quite a bit. If White people are always out doing the same thing, someone feel free to point those stories out.

I heard the NAACP is involved now and is watching the investigation. Why aren't they worried about why these young people were out getting into trouble and not at home. After all if you are under 18, the curview is 12:00 isn't it? I see this being another NAACP media frenzy! I am sorry for the family but when you have 80 thugs gather at one spot, you are asking for trouble.

Midnight on Friday and Sat., and I believe 10pm Sun-Thur for those under 18. 3 arrested for murder, and Phil Miller said it appears as if a 4th will be charged with murder shortly.

And what about the rest of them? 1AM, bunch of kids, anybody drinking? Drugs? Or does pressing underage drinking charges compromise the ability to use these kids as witnesses against the ones that commited murder? What about failure for these kids to come to the aid of the one killed? These homes are about 1500-1800 square feet and it was cold outside. You can't put 80 kids in a house that small and they don't know what's going on. This is one of the problems, kids are involved with something bad but nothing bad happens to them.

I have all of the same questions. The news said that the home owners will not be charged with anything. WHY, if many there were minors in violation of the curfew? It is sad that it seems that nobody came to the aid of this 18 yr old as he laid on the ground getting kicked repeatedly in the head. Where were the home owners? You can't tell me they didn't hear a ruckus like this going on in their yard and end of their driveway. If I can hear my neighbors arguing across the highway and I live on land, then those home owners had to hear it all go down. These parents are mad that their kids are being questioned to a murder they witnessed. WTH is wrong with those people for getting mad about this, and the NAACP doesn't have a leg to stand on. They just need to butt out of this, and help the victims grieving family out if they want to horn in on this.

Horace Damon Coleman, 19; Emanuel Benjamin Boykins, 18; and Quantez Devonta Mallory, 18. They're still looking for a fourth suspect.

isn't there a curfew for teens?

apparently underage drinking is a tremendous problem in douglas county/city.

kids out after 11 spells trouble. i'm sorry but no good comes late at night.

parents need to be parents and not "friends" with their chldren.

just think....this is the future of our country.

the naacp is mad because white deputies put them on a bus. did they make them set in the back? lol. they should be more concerned about the fact that someone died. watch, i bet rev. al will be here soon. race baiting at its best, and douglas county will be the center of attention. to bad we cannot make the news for anything good. everytime we are mentioned on the news its for a crime that has happened. we are fast becoming another clayton county. when your elected officials ie judges, commissioners, the sheriff all are black, then we will be clayton.

What the heck is wrong with people these day's? A lone kid got singled out by some pussies who thought they could show everyone how tough they are by ganging up on a single weaker kid to ensure their own cowardly safety. And shame on anyone who makes the issue about a bunch of teenage wittness to a MURDER who had to take a bus ride to the police station to give statements. I saw a guy on the news today who said "some of the kid's parents don't even know they are on the bus" Heck he looked more like a grandparent then a parent. And just how "many" of the teens on the bus parents did not know they were there? I bet the same number who did not know where their kids were to begin with when this happend. and if they are 17 years and older who cares if their parents did not know. Who ever makes a big deal out of the witness being on a bus is an idiot! The issue should not deviate from who killed this kid!
