The problem with this place is the corporation. Since they've taken Grace Assisted Living over and renamed it Good Neighbor Care there has been constant instability. Employees from top to bottom have changed constantly. They also wanted to charge the residents $150.00 extra a month if they did not use their preferred pharmacy. The only good thing about the place is the employees that work there or worked there. They really try to take care of the residents.

Exactly, that's what I've done. But I just wanted to let other people know of the problems there.

I had problems at the Veranda with care my mother was receiving and had to take Mom out without notice due to medications mistakes. They are not responding to my calls and requests for medical records. I have requested a refund of our money as they made numerous mistakes and lack of care. Please do not refer any one to them.

All good neighbor wants is money they do not care about anything else. Resident or employee's Lets to get us someone new to run us at least Grace was organized and didn't give us a run around and they believed in paying raises when do to employee's.. Ask some residents they will tell you this place is getting worse... LETS DO SOMETHING HERE

My mother was at Grace for 2 years until she died and I thought they took good care of her.I liked the workers but was never sure about the administration.

I worked at woodland terrace in Allentown PA. All godd neighborcare cared about was keeping overtime down at the exspense of the residents. The pay is low and they expect the car managers to clean, bus tables, wait tables etc. People quit on a daily basis because of the way they are treated. The memory care unit is a joke the coordinater walks around all day and yells at the staff. Do not work there or put a family memeber there

A nursing home is a nursing home no matter where it is. My father is in one in Alabama, The same things go on there as in these post. Staff change weekly, lack of care, let him lay in his excrement for hours, no bath or change of his clothes for days. He is blind and completely bedridden, no one there to feed him. If my mom whom has dementia also, didn't go there every morning to feed him, i doubt he would eat anything. He has a living will that specifies no feeding tube. They don't change his catheter regularly, he just got out of the hospital with sepsis in his blood stream from another urinary tract infection. Have his name on other homes waiting list, however they are all full since the county ran nursing home with 1100 patients recently closed. In my prior experience with nursing home care for another family member at a different facility, they are all the same. So sad to allow our senior citizens who have been productive citizens all their lives to be treated in such a manner.

To add about Woodland Terrace. Before Good Neighbor care purchased them. The staff was happy and the residents where happy. Now all the staff wants to do is bail. No raises are given. The expect their salaried workers to pick up the vacant shifts to avoid overtime. The memory care unit is small and not managered well. The only thing that matters to this company is money. At the expense of the residents and workers. The management expects 150% out of you, but, does not give any thing in return. If you want to place a loved one do not pplace them there. There are so many personal care homes in the Lehigh Valley to choose from. Place them in a facility that staffs coreectly and care for teh residents and the staff. Unhappy staff means unhappy residents.

All the comments are true in refernce to this company they are truley horrible, we the staff at the Veranda of Roswell do our best to take proper care of our residents but our management team is the worst they truly are working against us and do not care about the residents they only care about getting more people in to get bonuses which the real workers the CAREGIVERS dont get.

well, my nursing home days have come to an end with my dad. He passed away. He died from a UTI that turned into sepsis. If they had only given him more to drink to flush his kidneys maybe he'd still be alive. You can't bring a cup of water to a blind man and sit it down on the feeding tray and leave. He couldn't see it, even if he could he wasn't strong enough to lift it to his mouth. He suffered so much in the nursing home, but we had no choice. We could not take care of him at home any longer. Evidently, they didn't take care of him either. The bad part is he was not a medicaid patient, his bill was being paid from what he saved over the years for his care. The nursing home was getting paid the full amount, not a government approved amount through Medicaid. Seems as though they would have wanted to keep a private pay patient living as long as they could. We have not heard a word from the administration or office staff, they could at least send a card and say sorry for your loss. Only got a bill from them.

I work at Woodlan Terrace and love it ! The residents seem happy and have few if any complaints. If you sign on with this company, the just exspect you to do your job and nothing else. They have lots of activities and work hard to keep the residents both happy and busy. It's easy to bad mouth a company and try to look for things that are wrong. Anyone can do that. But for you that claim to have worked there and want to complain, what did you do tomake things better? Quit? Grow up. Not everyone is cut out to do a certian job. I myself love working with the residents and the reward of a smile from them is the best gift in the world.

I have already gone through the same type problems with my family. Funny thing is the government just can't seem to do enough for everyone else by creating new programs and laws but they never seem to care about the care of our older citizens. Sure they pump government money to these nursing homes but never see to it that our senior citizens are properly taken care of or treated properly. Why is this? Why isn't there anyone keeping an eye on the health care of our seniors in these personal care and nursing homes? If a person has reached a point in his or her life that they can no longer care for themselves what is really left for them to do but go to a nursing home to die in disgrace or put a bullet in their head. This is an unexcusable laspse of humanity toward our fellow man and something should be done about it now.

To Slatington, well you must be one a the few that love their jobs at the woods. Staff quit on a daily basis. You must be one of those suck ups that work there. that rat out your fellow co-worker. And of course you work in the Memory care Unit I bet. The place is a joke. The company does not care about the workers nor the residents. The mighty dollar is all they care about. Slatington why don't you get a real job. I am glad you love it there. Remember as the ED once told us. We are all replaceable. And you too are replaceable.
To add, how many workers have resigned, walked off the job or terminated since January. I would say about 20 employees. See a pattern. If they can not keep staff, how can they care for the residents who pay mega bucks to live there.

Really, ths place is a joke they have lost 3 DOWs is less than a year. The MC Coordinator started in April and is has resigned already. The staff runs out the door so fast you would think there was a fire. Look up the defiencies online. The place is a joke and has no reguard for its residents nor staff.

Hey isn't Vintage Knolls the place that had so many defiencies from the DPW that they went on a provisional license and they terminated the ED???? This is the pattern terminate, they do not train their employees then terminate them. Then give bad references.
Same everywhere you go

It seems like its the same everywhere you go. I work at the good neighbor care institute in shiloh IL and there is the same problems here. all they want to do is fill the empty rooms. To do this they have people living here who need a level of care we arn't equipt to provide. Every employee i work with has hurt them selves trying to help these people with out the proper equipment. they dont even take the time to show you proper ways to care or the people who need this extra level of care. The company wont let management buy the things we need and dont give raises and wont let employees get overtime is another employee cant work. Isn't it in the residents best intrests that if we cant properly provide care for them that they be sent to someplace that can. they dont care about the workers or the residents. the turn over in this place is crazy everyone who works here wants to quit. now if this is the same at every building good neighbor care is in charge of doesn't that say something about the company.
