"You can sell it to people who are educated and informed about our economy. But we have a government-educated electorate out there that could not tell you the difference between a profit and a profit margin. A government-educated electorate that buys this nonsense from Obama that the rich aren't paying their fair share. These people -- the voters that we have right now in this country, Sean, are exactly the type of voters that the people who created our government-educated system a hundred years ago wanted. Low information, uninformed, they don't know what's going on and they simply to react to this rhetoric they get from their politicians in Washington, D.C.," Boortz added.

The comment by Boortz starting around 7:00 about their not being enough revenue available is pretty good. We don't have a revenue problem, we have a spending problem...

We do not need to go off a fiscal cliff to prove how dumb somebody is, or to prove a point. That is not in our collective best interest. It is more expensive.

We have to move forward, and that means we need to make better choices with the resources that we do have.

The fiscal cliff is just something to scare people into giving the Dems. what they want in tax increases. This country is actually bankrupt but as long as we can keep spending our dollars nobody cares.
Spending is the problem and I don't see any real cuts until this country has finally declared that it is bankrupt.
Politicians will just do like they always do and pass something that will put it a little further down the road for another 6 months or so.
Fiscal cliff sounds real scary and would force the government to do what it should be working out now so that the impact will not be so difficult on Americans. It is just another term to be used as a tool for politicians to use to gain more power and money from us.

What's the hang-up you have with "profit" and "profit margin"? Do you really think people don't know the difference? I could talk about both of those things all day long - give you the formulas, talk about points, whatever you want. People aren't nearly as stupid as you regularly depict them to be. Or, conversely, perhaps you aren't nearly as smart as you think yourself to be.

This must be the hot topic over at the H&R Block Assistant Manager Forums this week. It seems to have gotten you all fired up.

Fiscal cliff is liberal scare tactics. That's the way Obama likes to do things. Get people to turn on each other. It's certainly worked for him so far.
It's interesting that not one liberal on Topix mentioned entitlement reform during the entire presidential campaign. I posted it several times and never got one comment nor post of support from the liberals on this forum. If there is to be a compromise in congress, I certainly hope entitlement reform is part of the deal.

I heard the 3 stooges (Reid, Pelosi and one other) made the claim that entitlement reforms are "off the table".

Well, that doesn't sound much like they are willing to compromise, huh? I find it difficult to believe that ANYONE would be against entitlement reform. Kind of like healthcare reform. Wonder why they support one and not the other? I guess they are okay with the gamers; the takers; those who DON'T truly qualify; those who make it difficult for those who truly need help. I don't expect there to be much compromise, if any, from the democrats. They'll make their demands and if they don't get what they want, they'll go to the press. Same as they always do. Such a despicable lot.

What just doesn't make sense is that no one (in politics), it seems, is looking down the road. There's not enough money to pay for everything, even if they raised taxes on the evil rich to 100% of income and "took" all of their wealth...

They are now looking to take at least part of your IRA's and 401K's. They may even try to grab more than that.

What's the matter, guy(s)? Afraid of losing some of your massive wealth? Or do just like to suck up to the neighborhood bully? Seriously, you work so hard for the republiKKKan party, sitting online all day searching for articles to support your republiKKKan agenda and then posting them here...lol.

Do you really think the republiKKKans care or even know you exist? Do you think anyone else cares? Anyone can sit here all day and copy and paste virtually anything that will support their agenda. But most of us have lives, jobs, etc. Maybe you guys should get one too.

I can't speak for Bill but I care what happens to my country. I care that this country is well underway to becoming a Socialist or communist country. I care that there will be a huge economic collapse that people may riot and murder each other to get food. I care that there may be another great depression that leaves most out of work trying to survive.
It is scary but most people such as B-Man has no idea what this would be like and doesn't even care. They will worry about it when it happens taking innocent people down with him that do care what is happening.
When the inevitable collapse happens I will have little or no feelings for those that support what is happening in this country now. I will try to help my friends, family, and those that think like myself but the rest of you can starve. You brought it on yourselves. I bet you won't be laughing then.

No, we're all laughing at you now. You remind me of those Japanese soldiers they found years after WW2 ended. They had been hiding in caves and had no idea the war was over or that they had lost. The war (election) is over. You lost. End of story.

Why do you care how much time we spend online? How do you know about our finances? You have no idea. You are just consumed with HATE and think that YOUR bullying is going to change things. Perhaps you should be MORE concerned with YOUR life and doing something about that envy and anger. My life is just fine and I am guessing that Bigdave's and BillinDville's is, too. You are simply immature and obsessed with posting the same old childish misspelling of Republican. Well, the Santa Claus party won(obnoxious, huh?) and we'll see what unfolds. I have a question for you, B-man. What if you are wrong about Obama? You see, it won't matter if I'm wrong about him. Actually, I hope I AM wrong. In that case everything will be great and we'll all prosper and be equal. BUT, what if you're wrong? What if the things that some of the republicans(and some others) claim might happen actually DO happen? What then? What will you have to say?

It's true. BigDummy1 is seriously caught up in the cold war, 30 years after it ended. Pretty amusing.

I think the BoyMan has a serious "wealth envy" issue because he/she likely won't ever be financially secure and not severely impacted by whatever the government does. Unless, of course, he/she wins the lottery. Then, in a few years, you'd read about how some dingbat wasted millions and millions of dollars...

Not to mention the educations issues...
