I am amazed that in 2012 we are still dealing with this level of ignorance. How can someone make sense of judging a person based on their skin? I just do not get it!
We as humans have evolved in so many ways. We do not burn people at the steak because we think they are witches, we do not allow a man to get away with rape or abuse just because he is a man, and we do not nail people to a wooden cross because we as humans think they deserve it! But somehow there are still people that think it's okay to cast judgment on someone based on their race!! Wtf?!

I don't discriminate against a race but a culture. You can't choose your skin color, but you can choose whether you wear your pants at your waist, or whether you leave the stickers on your ball cap. The culture is black urban, and I despise it. I don't mind blacks who work hard, dress nicely, and act decently. But most of them are thugs, so the whole race gets labeled that way.

How about every time a house is broken into, you and I play "guess the race of the perp." In Georgia, I'll guess "black" and win about 80% of the time.
It's just statistics, man. Nothing personal.

Well if that's how we judge people then I guess I'll assume all white men are cereal killers because nine out of ten cereal killers are. Not to mention most child molesters are white men. Or I can assume all white people are nuts because most mental disorders are found in white people.
And if we are going to discuss wardrobe I can point out just as many white people that wear extremely inappropriate and/or trashy clothes.
I just hope for the day that we are all judged on our individual merit.

Amazing... Well while we are guessing the perp....if u buy a just busted paper ... At least 80% of the arrests for DUI and meth are white people in general...I would hate to know I was judged by that because I am white also...
And I might be wrong but wasn't Minnie pearl white and she kept her tags on her hats. Ummm.. Come to think of it I would hate to know my entire race was judged by what I wore when I was young . Scary!

What kind of steak? Ribeye? New York Strip? Filet Mignon? And why would anyone burn a perfectly good steak? Anyone who ruins meat like that should be burned at the STAKE!

I think racism is gone for the most part, but there certainly is tension between the races here in the south.

I'm in customer service and most of our issues are with black women. That's a fact. You know it's pretty bad when you watch an employee complain to another about a rude customer, and the first question asked is " she was black wasn't she?" Many black women carry this huge chip on their shoulders and I just wish everyone was nice. You don't meet nearly as many white women who have the chip. That's all I'm saying... If you work customer service, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Don't act like it doesn't exist.

I mean, think about how many whites voted for Obama, and then think about the percentage of blacks who voted for him... If anyone is favorable toward race, it's the blacks. We whites are clearly "over it" or we wouldn't have elected a black president. That should be proof enough that the past is in the past.

why is it that white males tend to interpret us blacks by wearing the baggy jeans and big clothes, now a days you see more white in public acting a fooling and showing their ass. i went to the mall recently and that's all i seen, if it's such a big deal to the whites why are their kids copying our style?

It is embarrassing to the rest of us. I own a company and I have people show up for interviews dressed like that. Unbelievable.

Another thing this thread seems to assume is that all the "racism" in Douglasville is coming ONLY from white people. The loudest racism we hear in this town is coming from rude black people and is directed squarely at white people. It's very rare to hear a white person say anything blatantly racist for several reasons. For one, white people know that saying just 1 simple word will throw most blacks into a homocidal rage making them feel totally justified to commit a violent act. That doesn't happen with white people. Call us whatever you want and we won't hit you. Why? Because we can control ourselves in the face of verbal stupidity, YOU cannot. Another thing white people are all too aware of is that if you get into any sort of disagreement with a black person, you just bought into it with their entire family and everyone they know. Black people can't engage in 1-on-1 debates or conflicts. They opt for immediate gang-like coverage. And lastly, this gang-like attitude is one of the main reasons most white people who aren't racists avoid blacks. It has nothing at all to do with the historical excuses whites used to use. It's all about today's examples from blacks which are frankjly not very good. It goes way beyond the public rudeness, lewdness and loudness.

At the risk of repeating myself: “Black Folks” is the only thing Rednecks hate worse than being called a racist.

Actually, being called a racist is no big deal. It's too easy to toss that word out these days and it's used for any occasion. So it's just as useless as calling me a honkey (which was just too funny sounding to take as an insult). Most of the people who scream RACIST the loudest are only calling someone that because they are white. They have come to assume that just being white is an act of racism so the word has lost most of its meaning. I don't care if anyone calls me a racist. I expect it. Because I'm white. I know plenty of white people who are clearly not racists, but they are assumed to be anyway. All because of the color of their skin. Too many people forget that racism and bigotry goes both ways. Even this thread assumes racism = white.

I agree because I read the OP 3x and no where in it did he/she say she was talking about white people. He/she could have been talking about people in general. Not until the 3rd post was a race any added. Its funny how everyone just went on the attack and assume he/she was talking about white people. Whats even more funny is that all the people that went on the attack/defense and assume she was talking about white people are white.

Something to think about

"Cereal" killers? Is that like Fruit Loopsing somebody to death. Or making them eat Wheaties until they collapse. Shredded Wheat? Sugar Pops? Rice Krispies?

The vast majority of people I have asked in person can not adequately define racism. Look it up. Some of you will be surprised, especially the person repeating themselves (kinda like arguing with yourself)...
