The WSA's MILLION dollar "no-bid" contract.

Mayorial candidate Rochelle Robinson, and the WSA board passed through a 1.3 MILLION DOLLAR "no-bid" contract at the last WSA meeting. The vote was 5 to 1, the lone opposing vote came from Mayor Thompson. Why would the board do such a thing? No bid contracts have such an air of "under-handedness" to them, one wonders who is really going to benefit from this contract. Will the crack reporter Helen McCoy write about this story? We will have to see, since she is the secretary for the WSA and writing for the Sentinel as if she were Rochelle Robinson's press secretary, one can only wonder.

Does the city have a conflict with the WSA? About water? land? Paper? Permitting? Planning?

Does the WSA understand about staying in compliance with the law, and the city doesn't have a clue?

Look at how the WSA runs their ship. They make money. They win awards. They follow the law!

Now look at the city. Its broke. How many roads collapsed due to the floods? How much did the city cost its taxpayers due to error?

Whatever its for, I am on the side of the WSA over the city.

Maybe the WSA is trying to figure out how to fix the city mess, in a way that benefits everybody.

I really don't think the city knows how to create win/win situations. Douglasville views it like this
City wins, taxpayer loses. What the city misses is when the city wins at the expense of the taxpayer, everybody loses.

Mickey is a power monger who extended himself a bit to far on this. WSA Chairman McManus boxed his ears. Lovin' it.

Chairman Craig McManus, does know how to do that with his three minute timers. The city complaining of conflicts. Imagine that. And voting against the board, the only qauasi governmental agency that knows how to make money! Even County Commissioner Worthan voted with the board, and the county loves the city.

Well I would only offer this comment about the Douglas County Sentinel. With there censorship, if you post a comment that does not agree with the BOC or the BOA. You will never see that comment on the page under what ever story it pertains to. It will just mysteriously disappear.
