Quote from Mayor Persons, when talking about raises for the elected officials only-"None of us in here are doing it for the pay, but there is nothing wrong with being compensated for the amount of time you put forth doing the job you do."

I guess that only applies to elected official. Other city employees clearly shouldn't be given raises or be compensated for the job they do. That is just down right dirty!

City workers really took it on the chin with the past Mayor. The more things change the more they stay the same I guess.

This quote is funny to me... " He again stressed the need for compensation to be fair and adequate" as he drives around in a brand new $ 60,000 LOADED Tahoe! The mayor really cares if things are fair? Couldn't he choose to drive a cheaper car with better gas mileage? That would be a start!

sucking up to the mayor-$500 bonus
keeping your mouth shut about certain under the table deals,$1000

spread eagle on the conference room table $500

flashing the supervisor--$200

It sounds like he needs to apply that logic to the employees that risk their lives everyday!!! How about you give your police officers a raise, as you promised! Less than 1% does not count. Bet the elected officials get well more than 1%!

This city, Mayor, and city council is so screwed up!

Does anyone know what the pay per year averages for our part time Mayor? I'm willing to bet its more than most of his full time employees.

Wow! He makes more than the full time employees! This should be a real slap in the face to all of them!

$36,621 is more than full time employees?
Maybe some. You do understand that full time employees don't all make the same amount, right?

I guarantee that some make more than that. Much more.

Sure thing. The ones who have been there for years, gotten promotions and earned their way up. He's been Mayor for one year and he makes more than the starting pay for most full time positions. A part time job should not be the same pay and better benefits than a full time job.

The main focus is why does he feel his council members should get a 60% raise when other city employees haven't had one in years and years????

I would imagine with some of the things going on since he's assumed Mickey's golden chair "da Mayor" felt he needed to get on some folk's good side.

all of you are PUBLIC SERVANTS, you should make minimum wage like any other maid or janitor would make.
