The owner is very sweet. I talk to him on facebook from time to time.
I hope he is able to stay open, because this economy has hit him hard as well. I do wish him the very best. He has excellent bagels.
I was thinking his business was doing well. Every time I go in there, it is pretty crowded.

He has talked about having to close a couple of days a week, unless it picks up a lot. He has a facebook fan page.

Well, I'm sorry to hear that. Their bagels are so superior to what I can buy in a grocery store. I love their cream cheeses, muffins and really everything I have eaten there has been delicious.

He does have great bagels. A lot of us tell him this all of the time on facebook. He sincerely appreciates his regular customers all of the time on his page.
I really hope he doesn't have to close a couple of days, but if that will keep him in business until hopefully things do pick back up then I'd rather see him do that than close down for good.:)

Their location probably hurts them. Too much breakfast competition right outside their front door.

I think Dean is nice, too. He is just not as outgoing as his wife. It sounds as if they are under a good bit of stress trying to make it. He is usually in the back working and doesn't have as much time to visit.

I've seen folks in there with Starbucks cups...

Location is a minus. The fact that they do not have a drive through hurts them. That they do not have a barista at all times - always feels like you're inconveniencing them if you ask for a latte or what not - hurts them. I'd think that in order to really thrive those things would have to be addressed.

And, frankly, I can only do bagels once a week at most.

Yeah their location isn't really the best, but their bagels are great. Getting out of that little strip mall can be a chore on any given day. That is really the main reason why we do not go out to eat in that little area very often. Once every month or so we will go eat at the Texas roadhouse.

Alright I will hush. I will get started on the traffic again. LOL :)~

For me: My house.

Banana, one of those 6 oz Yoplait low fat yogurts, large cup of green tea, bottle of water and I'm on my way for a 31 mile drive to the office. Banana peel gets thrown in the garage garbage can, yogurt can be eaten while driving (it's small enough to "drink" it).

Easy to put together and no mess.

I know breakfast is supposed to be the most important meal of the day, but anything more than this and I'm sluggish at work.

Subway actually has pretty darn good brunch-type sandwiches served until around 11:00, I think. You can get lots of fresh veggies toasted on flat bread or an English muffin with white/yellow egg, cheese, bacon, etc. These really are good, not greasy or heavy, and somewhat healthy, I guess, depending on how you order it.

My all-time favorite is Waffle House, though.

Everybody says the Charlie's place is good. Never have made it over that way for one.
