You can go out to baymeadows and fish from the bridge for free,or any pond that joins a public roadway.

You must be talking about that hot spot at Baymeadows right next to the "No Fishing from the Bridge Sign"! Takes about 20 min for a Deputy to show up to see if the fish are biting!

Do you know the New Forest Hwy off of the west green hwy?? You go almost to the end of the new forest hwy and right before you get to the stop sign there is a paved road to the right, turn it and go I think maybe a mile or 1/2 and you'll pass the meeks place on the left ( they have blue berries) then you'll start to see some trailers and be looking for a pond on the left side of the road on the side of those trailers. Its a nice pond and you just leave your money in the box on the tree. You'll see it, I think its like $5.00.

Check with Elmo's bait shop off of 158 next to the tech college. He will know where you can go for pay ponds.

Yeah I've been there several times and we caught bream and my husband caught a few bass but we went out in the boat. They have a box on the treee to put the money in but yes I'm sure there have probaly been a few who go fishing without paying. The Meeks sell produce. The one who owns the pond is Sidney Meeks (I think) it's closer to his house then any of the other Meeks.

Only problem then is that if you launch a boat at Baymeadows without a current landowner permit, then Mr.Lake Patrol will "Harrass" you and call Mr. Deputy and you can be charged with criminal trespass. Fish ain't that important, I think Benton's Seafood is still open!

Who payes Mr.Lake Patrol's salary or better yet who payes Mr.Deputies salary,if this is an exclusive community why not make it Gated and charge Non-land owners a fee to enter ?

If you go on the internet, check out the DNR web site and click on public fishing lakes in Coffee county.

you are the reason pond owners don't let people fish anymore. see how you sound " don't pay unless you catch a mess." i bet if they let you fish for free you would be there every day. why not pay? it helps with the feed and clean up around the ponds, these ponds does cost money to up keep and we do have to pay taxes.
