Why don't you all quit whinning and bitching and try staying on topic. This is a thread about the death of someone. Has there been any new information released? And if you reply with some smart ass comment then be prepared for my rebutle.

Well if you must know, it's reported that Marcus had ordered some food from Swanson's snack bar - which is on what was formerly known as the block..thus he was riding a bike in that area, to go pick up his takeout order..low and behold someone came along and shot him 8 times (reportedly)..the prime suspect is someone by the name of Lionel (can't disclose the last name, but if you do your investigative research, it's not hard to find) that the Douglas Police Dept questioned a few hours ago..now this guy Lionel is a convicted felony and a known drug dealer down in dem dere parts, and it's rumored (note rumored) that Mr. Marcus Collins was one of his proteges..so not attempting to read too much into that until the authorities release something concrete to the public, one could conclude that Mr. Collins ran afoul of his mentor and things too a drastic turn, which led to his demise..rebuttals welcomed..

While there has been many issues in Coffee County in the past about solvong murders, meaning a certain former sheriff didnt want them solved,I think the issue nowadays is that because of this counties past with having the law a the biggest drug dealers in town and also dangerous people, it has caused everyone to be scared to get involved and tell what they know. Someone here in Coffee County knows who, what, when, and why, when it comes to these girls, and its time everyone stopped being afraid and just did the right thing. I have faith in our law enforcement and the GBI, but I have less faith in our citizens, and unfortantly the citizens are the ones that make all the difference.
Ummmm....I don't think it's always scared citizens, but the issue at times is do law enforcement listen to the citizens and actually follow up on what they are being told. I admit someone knows who, what, when, why, not only about what happened to the young girls this past weekend, to the guy this morning, to the young lady at the prepaid store and many others. The citizens are not always the ones to make the difference. Is our law enforcement and GBI really capable or for that matter, I wonder how many really gives a darn. Some of these cases shouldn't be too hard to figure out. My heart goes out to the girls' families that were found in the pond. I heard on the news that one girl sent texts hours later that just said "momma". I wonder if they tried to find the phone or have the phone to see if it was actually them that sent the very last text? But I'm not law enforcement, but they could use a lil help except when it comes to busting drugs....smh....Let's be careful where we put our faith....Trust no man.....

The people who complain about law enforcement or claim that "Some of these cases shouldn't be too hard to figure out" need to put their money where their mouths are. Go get a job in law enforcement and show us all how it's done. I'm sure you can solve all the cases still left unsolved around here.

No what you do is try to expose what is wrong with our system here and then push for a change. Your line of thinking is completely intellectually lazy.

Its apparent that some of you would rather be negative and rude, that may be some of the reason my faith in the citizens around here its held in the highest regaurds. And I did't say our law enforcement is A+, but without information from the public and limited forensics, what exactly do you suppose they do? I do agree that maybe they could give out more info in order to jog memories about Friday night in case somthing strange was seen. Fact or the matter is they need tips as well as forensics.

Is he 'alleged' or 'known' cause he can't be both. If he is known then he can be arrested and prosecuted. If alleged he has to be caught before arrest and prosecution.

BTW, I'd stay off the block if I was you. Street justice is deadly.

Fact of the matter is, the only reason these idiots get on here bashing law enforcement is to try and persuede someone to vote for their crooked sheriff in lieu of the one we have now.
