BayMeadows Lake Owners Meeting
Keep Calm and Carry On

So what do you say about all those on the water whose houses are in a flood plain? Most of BM is in a flood plain. I know from the corp of engineers mapping that shows it when I had to purchase my flood insurance. The mortgage company required it. A proper spill way is installed using calculations regarding the area of the body of water and the amount of flow needed to properly allow for it to flow out to prevent flooding to the residents on the lake/pond or just of the land around it. This was clearly not done with it was set up as a housing development, nor when they so called fixed it after the 07 floods. This is irresponsible of the owner of the development and of the residents for not pushing for it. I know because I spoke with him regarding it....he does not give a darn about any of us nor anyone down stream nor the health of the pond. Money is all that matters to him, hence his recent actions. He is no longer making the $$$ he was and now wants the responsibility off his hands.

Let's state the facts Susie Q at no time has the spillways been closed I will repeat at not Imelda has the spillways been closed. The flood gates were installed to prevent the dam from busting due to too much water entering the pond and breaching the dam. This happens all over the world when there is more water than the pond or lake can handle and water runs over the dam this cuts into the dam and it soon breaks. And for you GR when Mr. ferguson built the home there was no permit issued as required by law had one been requested it would have been denied due the the fact that it is a flood path of the Satilla River. Regardless of all you people are saying the amount of water when it was Hillards pond or Baymeadows or regardless of the dam even being there the same amount of water would run through and cause the same problem. But the real important fact here is that water does not run uphill and from we're Bear Creek runs through your property is west and uphill. He'll Rays Charles could have seen that. If you are not in a flood zone why did your mortgage company required Flood Insurance? There are a lot of facts that you are ignoring about your flooding. I was out there yesterday and the water from Bear Creek was down to nothing yet you still had watering your yard! That is because you are on the Satilla River and it is backed up. But there is no one you can try and sue over that can you. You all should accept the facts if you hold a glass under the faucet and turn on the water until the glass fills up and you continue the amount of water that enters the goes into the sink is the same as it would be if the glass had not been there less the water in the glass. It not hard to understand! The amount of water that was released was the same no matter what with the exception had the gates not been opened the dam would bust and the damage would have been bad but even then it was not Bear Creek that flooded you it was the Satilla River. The gates were not opened to protect any homes at Baymeadows had they not been opened there would not have been any flooded homes at Baymeadows ther never has been and never will be you see permits were purchase to build the homes to may sure they are not in a flood zone. If I build a home in the middle of 441 there is a risk that it will be hit by a truck the same is true if you build a house in a flood zone you will get wet.
Well said my friend

I wonder why you chose to rebuild in the exact same spot as your previously flooded home. Common sense should tell you that it was a risky move. Fortunately many jurors have common sense and will ask the same question
Conventional wisdom thought you were not stupid enough to drown us twice. Guess I gave all yall too much credit!

Big Money! Good for me......hadn't thought about BIG MONEY but now that I've pondered it, that will be nice.

Wonder how much you are gonna have left when I'm done Big Money? Sleep good in that lake house 'cause one day it may be mine!

Gun Runner, why didn't you respond to this post? Looks like to me you would rather win the argument than solve the problem!!!!

<quoted text>The lake actualy has TWO spillways and TWO flood gates now you stupid moron. The water is free to run over either spillway anytime it choses.
let me see if I can help you. Back in the dark ages when I was growing up,THERE were no homes, boatramps, docks, pools or a million toliets at Hilliards pond, just cows.Pasture land and cows, lots of cows. Anyone with any brain activity[which leads me to believe you have none] would know the excess amount of homes, spectic tanks run off from home etc will and has affected the eco system of the wetlands. That's right dude/dudette wetlands. Some of the homes built were not even suppose to be there but as usual people with dollar signs in their eyes ignored the facts and built anyway. Some of the land especially around the brige over Bear creek have never really been dry enough to walk on until this last years long drought.Mess with mother nature and she will get you. I may, in your opinion, be a moron but at least I'm not stupid enough to insult everyone rather than make a valid point.

WHAT PROBLEM? YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE PUT YOUR HOUSE DOWN FROM THE LAKE. WHEN THE LAKE IS FULL IT HAS TO RUN. WHEN WALB SAYS WE MAY GET 5-8IN THE LAKE WILL RUN. YOU THINK YOUR GOING TO GET MONEY, YOU DIDNT LAST TIME AND WILL NOT THIS TIME. IF YOU CARED ABOUT YOU HOME, YOU WOULD MOVE. LOOKS LIKE YOUR STUPIED THEN YOU LOOKED ON WALB.

When I win the argument the problem will be solved!

Jack keeps changing his name so I decided not to communicate with one so confused.

If he shows up with some axles I'll be awaiting on him. He won't. He ain't got a truck!

Sorry you feel so upset. As the owner of Big Foot Transport in Jax Fl. I wanted to help you. As a Baymeadows Vacation home owner on the lakeside(BM), I wanted to help you. If you want the help, let me know.

OK Susie Q you are not much smarter than GR. I got 10 bucks that says a lot of things, homes, business just to name a couple that is probably about all y'all can handle at one time has changed. Including a house built to close to the river that is the one that GR lives in. If things were the same as they were when you were just a kid then we would be a third world country. I don't understand why you two cannot see the light but then I guess that is because you don't want to. GR's house should have not been built where it is that is the problem but I if you want to believe that the problem is the lake you will just have to believe that but it is not the truth. As far as why were the gates opened I must have went over your head pretty quick as I said ithat the gates were installed to prevent the dam from breaching that is why they are put in all ponds and lakes. They were opened to prevent the dam from breaching so rather than complaining yall should be thanking those that prevented from happening. They worked and they will work again if the rain comes like it did last week. Build all of the houses you want on the River they will get flooded but not from the lake they will flood from the river if you build them too close.
