Speech given today 9/17/2012 by Romney at private fundraiser. Patricia Zengerle Reuters 6:19 p.m. CDT, September 17, 2012 WASHINGTON (Reuters)- Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney dismissed supporters of President Barack Obama - almost half of U.S. voters - as people who live off government handouts and do not "care for their lives," in a potentially damaging video. "There are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them," Romney said in a hidden-camera video of his remarks at a private fundraiser earlier this year posted on Monday on the left-wing Mother Jones magazine's website. "My job is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives. What I have to do is convince the 5 to 10 percent in the center that are independents," he said in remarks convincing donors to write checks for his campaign. The tape was released in the middle of a difficult time for Romney, as his campaign team on Monday fought off a report of disarray in his inner circle. The former private-equity executive promised to retool his message with more specifics on policies. This guy will win in Georgia, but will lose the election.

The whole quote: "There are 47% of the people who will vote for the President no matter what. Alright, there are 47% who are with him, who are dependent on government, who believe that they are victims, who believe government has the responsibility to care for them, who believe they are entitled to healthcare, to food, to housing!" Yeah, Romney, people seem to have the crazy idea that healthcare, food and shelter are human rights or something.

I have a job. I pay for my own home and groceries. I pay for my healthcare through my monthly premium and out of pocket expenses. I pay taxes. I also voted for Obama last time. I am one of the 47% that is dependent on the government-for my rights and freedoms. The first of which is to vote for a president who doesn't lump me in with a group of people who feel entitlement is their right. Thank you Mr. Romney for clearing this up for me. I know for whom I will vote in November.

You do realize that this is the THIRD time that this video has been circulated, right? Why was nothing made of it the first two times? Could it be because the White House and the media weren't as worried about Obama being re-elected, and now things aren't looking so good?

You know, when a reporter asked John McCain why he chose Sara Palin to be his running mate in 2008 instead of Mitt Romney, McCain said Sara Palin was a stronger candidate. I'm beginning to understand what he meant.

How can so many not see what is going on behind the scenes? we have been lied to by this present administration too many times to even keep count. The congress, the white house staff and the president are nothing but liars and yes, I'll say it, a bunch of THIEVES! Open your eyes and ears, people can't be as ignorant as it appears!

"Yeah, Romney, people seem to have the crazy idea that healthcare, food and shelter are human rights or something" News flash: Healthcare, food and shelter ARE NOT rights afforded us under the US Constitution. All we are affored is the "right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness". In essence, the OPPORTUNITY to do with our lives as WE see fit so long as it doesn't infringe on the rights of another. These rights, as written by our framers, are from our Creator and are inalienable; they don't come from government. If you start allowing the government to "give" you rights, then they can also "take" those rights away from you. As an example: The government institued a mandatory financial social program called Social Security.(Supposedly) Every citizen that pays in has the RIGHT to receive benefits when they retire. However, the government continually TAKES AWAY the benefit of this "right" by reducing the money paid to retirees, limiting how much you can get based on your earnings, etc and there isn't anything we can do about it. As I said, when THEY give, THEY can TAKE AWAY. A TRUE right is something that cannot be taken from you. If you want the government to provide healthcare, food and shelter as a right, then you have to go live in countries that practice communism or socialism. You know, countries like Cuba, the former USSR & North Korea. In America, we have a percentage of "poor" people, middle class people and rich people. I say "poor" because our "poor" are among the richest in the world and they being considered "poor" is in the context of America; not the rest of the world. If you want to see REAL poor people, go to Haiti, the middle east, Africa, etc. But in Cuba, North Korea, etc, EVERYONE is equally bad off unless you are at the top and then you live the posh life. By giving people the FREEDOM to pursue their dreams and achieve success, you raise up the entire society. By making everyone the same and the government providing their basic necessities, you drag everyone down to the lowest level. This is an undisputable fact that has been proven over and over and over again through out human history.

Funny how people take things so wrong. It really don't matter who you vote for, if you live in Georgia. Romney will carry Georgia, big time. There are still enough God fearing people here, not to elect a man that believes in murder and same sex marriage. Good luck with your vote though.

Also the term "God Fearing" and the thought that God wants people to fear him, is just stupid. Let me point out a fact to you, Romney's "47%" of "victims" includes the state of GA (one of the 10 ten states that get the highest amount of welfare.

I'll take my chances with Romney! Dang if I want to be robbed and slaughtered, by the corrupt congress and administration in the white house now. I don't think we will ever have the chance to clean house, unless a revolution by the citizenry is fought against the evil political powers that have enslaved us. Yes, that is exactly what this has all led up too. We are back at step one, when our ancestors fought for the freedom that we have so foolishly given away!Do you honestly think that Obama gives a hoot about the america? I sure hope you aren't that dumb!

Obama's folks are working hard to deflect their foreign policy failures: economic (China to Europe and back) and peace (Middle East and Southwest Asia); and economic and social issues here at home. The great community organizer has become the great divider. He is our greatest failure ever!

I can take you today, and spend 2 hours with you and show you 100 strong healthy men doing other stuff, besides working, that will not work and have no intention of working.. That is the people that Romney/Ryan are targeting. They have no intention in hurting those that really need it, disabled, senior citizens, and retired legally people. If you can't see that then someone needs to read the bills they intent to try and pass to you.
