Why is the only way expenses are cut at CRMC always at the employee level? Isn't the job of the CEO,CFO,Assistant CFO, and VP to think out of the box and be smart enough to come up with new ideas on how to run the hospital, make a profit or break even and have happy employees. Has no one told them or have they not heard their most valuable assets are their employees. With salaries of those individuals, why can't we get someone who can run our hospital like other hospitals are being run? Look at Alma? They are growing by leaps and bounds.

Didn't they cut your discount at the cafeteria? That's is so stupid. Like that's going to bring em out of financial problems. Looks
Like they need to figure out where the real problem is and stop making the hard working nurses and employees pay the price for their poor mismanagement of funds.

Just something to think about.

I spoke with a board member when CRMC began the program to force everyone with a balance to fiance it through a fiance company. Turns out CRMC had interest in the fiance company. The interest was 22%. He said to me that the administrator was the finest man he knew. The board believe everything he tells them. The fact they he has made such a mess of things doesn't appear to connect with them. For those who don't know everytime a person with Mcr goes into the hospital they must meet a deductible of around 1000.00. If the elderly happen to be admitted 4 times in one year, they would have to pay 4,000. See the elderly get screwed while the young-do-nothing get Mcd which pays almost everything.

Don't know the facts about the finance company. If the administrator is the finest man that the board member knows, he definitely needs to get out more. You have got to understand that the CRMC Board only knows what the administrator tells them. They truly need to meet with the staff and find out about the true leadership of intimidation, threats, and lies that is lead by the administrator. He cares for a select few and hides behind crisis management creating a focus on anyone but himself...He even deals with the medical staff in the same way...

i can honestly say that the quality of care at CRMC is the very worst. some of the staff are very good but so many are not worth the dime they make.
i you can speak and help your self a little you can get by and come home with out dying before you leave, but these poor people who have had strokes and accidents and cant speak up or push that nurse button is in for a bad stay. some of these people are in the wrong profession for sure. maybe is all managements fault.i dont know. but in any case the staff should look after the paient and treat them like humans.

I am sorry you had such a bad experience at CRMC. I personally have had nothing but good experiences with my Mom and Dad. In my experience, the staffers have come along way. It is like every business, you have good people who do their job and then you have a few bad apples (only a few) that can spoil the barrel. Unfortunately, when you are dealing with a loved one being sick it's difficult to try and understand.

I think if you are "somebody", you probably get much better service. Sometimes they do come thru. The majority of the time, CRH is nothing but a pile of $H1!,just like it has always been.

I want to say, its not just CRMC with problems, its any hospital you go to. Don't down our local hospital, bc when its you or one of your loved ones that WE NURSES & DRS save when an emergency arises bc then you will be thankful for our lil hospital, which as a nurse and employee at CRMC I always strive to do what it takes to make my pts stay the best, nothing less! I'm sorry of you got a bad apple, its those that we try to thin out, we want to provide ther best service, bc we never know when we may be the patient.

check again,I paid enough deductible at CRMC and others to know everytime you are admitted you have to . It was 975.00 several years ago. You also pay 20% if you don't have supplementa ins. They may pay 162. for the doctors office visit but not he hospital, I paid enough of them for my parents to know what it was several years ago and I would think it went up again just as it did all those years I paid for my parents

Agree completely with the positive comment about Bacon Co. Hospital in Alma. My wife recently had a bad flareup with her gall bladder. Since we go to the Bacon Co. Community Care Clinic for our general medical needs I drove her to Alma for her gall bladder. (I have heard so many negative things about CRMC from local, reliable people I was afraid to think about going there). The service at Alma E.R. was great. After an evaluation, a very well trained, experienced surgeon came in and said he would do the laproscopic operation early the next morning. Surgery was done and she went home the day after. The staff there are great and the new second story addition is very modern and nice. I now can see why folks go elsewhere for treatment when a loved ones health (maybe life) is on the line.

Ditto the 'pile of $h1!'. Let's talk about 'at the employee's expense',for those employees who actually still have a job and may be concerned about some stupid decrease in your cafeteria discounts. Try this on for size -- I worked there for the past 12 years and got the boot a couple of weeks ago WHILE ON MEDICAL LEAVE, mind you. Think I got a phone call from one sorry, heartless soul who works there? NOT!! What I got was 'we sent you a letter'!!! Really, where's the damn letter? I never got it! I'll pray for those of you who are still employed there, though, and don't forget, they may act like they care about you, BUT THEY DON'T!!! Get out while you can! Would love to see them go under --- what good is a company who treats their employees this way?

I pray that I NEVER have to be a patient nor step in those doors EVER again.

ACTUALLY they were right. MCR deductable is 162.00. Be it at a office or at the hospital. thats how the offices do their billing..we check to see if the deductable has been met. and our first question is have you been to the hospital? bc most of the time one hospital visit will take care of the deductable

Reckond how many of the "big dogs" have had a cut in salary. If they had to live like most of us live, they could probably go w/o pay for a few years.

I have to say that you can't just say that CRMC is the worse hospital. I've worked in more than one hospital and I've heard that about both. Sorry to say but you can't always please everyone. As hard as the nurses and staff try, there is always some that expect a little more than what the employees can offer. We can apologize and try to sugar coat things for you but sometimes it never smooths things over. We all try to make things as comfortable as we can for the patients during their stay because we do understand what everyone is going through. But sometimes, because we are human, we can't do everything expected of us. We can't all be in more than one place at a time. When you are caring for 5-6 patients and they all wants something, we have to use our judgement as to what is more important. If a patient is not doing well at all, that patient comes first and so on. But until you know what is going on with that nurse or staff member, please try not to judge us all.
As for the financial aspect of things, I don't know everything that is going on and maybe this hospital is not doing as well as others. But who's to say that it's one person's fault. You think about it. Our town was hit really hard by major industries over the last few years closing. With that in mind, you lose so many people with insurance coverage. So if they get sick and need medical care, they are unemployed and have no insurance. Is the hospital to turn them away for their inability to pay? Stop and think about things of that matter before you point fingers as to why things are happening because I guarantee you that things aren't always what they seem.

well most people that I know would take the opportunity to go to day shift so it does seem a little strange. They must have some nerve to carry on while on duty.

CRMC has not always been that way. Granted some might have had affairs years ago but it was NOT widespread like you say it is today. when I worked there they would not put up with such crap esp on the premises. Like everything else the moral compass of the people are off course.CRMC was a good place to work in the distant past, we weren't allowed to do the things they do today. Of course we were taught how to do patient care not the paperwork they focus on today. Have lots of fond memories from that place, slong with some very good friends.
