My daughter told me yesterday that a boy had it to defend himself against a group of boys that threatened to jump him after school. Now rather that was the truth or not idk.

I can't believe it took this long to hit topix. Topix is usually quicker than that.

Gun was on the grounds. It was going to be used against a bully. Boy brought it from home and showed someone before it was used.

Cops hauled him off in cuffs. He's awaiting court. In YDC.

The Bully needs to be in JAIL, this happens everyday in every school and nothing ever gets done about it.

Real surprised this doesn't happen more often!!!!!!

The incident was between two students not one student and a whole group of students. From what students are saying there was no bullying involved it was just two friends having an argument that went awry.

It does'nt do any good to report a bully, nothing ever gets done about it, then when something bad happens,it's the innocent one that's the bad person.

Really now? I'll bet you would not be so flippant if your child was in the line of fire. It was bullying. He had enough. You don't get to say what is serious for another person. You don't get to decide what is a big deal for other people.

This is the same argument used in rape cases when the woman is wearing a mini-skirt. She wasn't "asking for it", and he doesn't have to put up with being bullied.

People need to quit playing before someone gets shot. Now this kid is facing jail time for trying to get someone to leave him alone.

Ninth Grade. That most likely makes them 17 or 18.

Try them as an adult.

I was not being flippant. I am very concerned about the whole situation. I know both of these young men. All I said was that it was not a case of bullying these boys have been friends most of their lives. They got into a bad argument which does not constitute bullying it is an argument. Does bullying take place at the school? Yes it does and it is tragic. It needs to be stopped. This was an act of anger not retaliation. That was my point.

And by the way my child attends that school and bullets don't always hit their target so every student there was in danger not just the one that was the intended target.

And when they start firing, it will probably be more than one bullet that is discharged. Supposedly it was going to happen in the lunchroom but there were going to be too many teachers and people around.
