the driver wasnt drunk she was a elderly lady, the tralier had tail lights but when they pulled on the road, the lights went out, the 2nd hayride was trying to yell at them to stop but it was to late, the lady was going the speed limit which is 55-60 and glanced to her left at the church and the festival and dint see the hayride in front of her, they'v been doing this hayride and festival for yrs, its came by my house last yr. There is no blame to be placed it was a freak accident, those do happen. Please continue your prayers for the families, the church, and the woman who hit them last night.

I don't know. However, you don't have to wear a seat belt in a semi-truck unless they changed that law. You don't have to wear one on a motorcycle or bikes. All the tractors you see out on the public roads don't wear seat belts. Does anyone know what was pulling the trailer? The trailer is not a motor vehicle. Just something to think about.
I was told today that the trailer was being pulled by a jeep. Now the person I got my info from was part of the rescue team and was there through the whole thing and what kind of jeep, they did not say{open top, suv etc} and was also told that alcohol was not involved, as was posted by some earlier posters. I would not put blame on anyone, especially until GSP report comes out and family of those hurt has some time to look after their loved ones. There will be plenty of time later to point fingers.

well now I spoke with my family member who was on the second wagon. the trailor lights were on because he saw them. He did not say the lights went out or that they yelled for them to stop. However he did say the car was going so fast they didn't see it only heard it and the sound when it hit. It hit so hard the trailor hitch was knocked off the ball. The first trailor was being pulled by a jeep.

SEE this is what starts rumors and causes people to have hard feelings, Neither of these statements are true. Why would you make this stuff up.

Truth is only 2 people were lifeflighted out, the driver of the car struck the trailer not another vehicle, the driver was not drunk ot even drinking, and she was an elderly woman who was distracted by the lights at the festival and she was estimated to be running 55 MPH. Please be sure of your information before posting. Not scoulding you at all, but please think before typing.

I wasn't there, however I think a slow moving trailer on that highway at that time of night is a bad idea.

praying that all will make full recovery in this terrible incident.

i had a relative on the one that got hit and they heard the 2nd wagon yelling and the little old lady scared herself so bad they thought she was gonna have a stroke, she was going the speed limit, which is 55-60 so I could see how that may seem faster. But the lights on the wagon did go out. It was a accident that could have happen anywhere at anytime to anyone. There is no blame to be placed on anyone.

This thread should only be used for prayers and any updates on conditions of those hurt.

Speculation on the cause of the accident and repeated stories of "I know someone who said." are not helpful at this time.

Don't even humor these atheists. They're only trying to sow strife and turmoil in the kingdom. I'm a christian and I also despise "religion". Religion turns people with potential, such as yourself, into blind/belligerent sheep. Coaxed as much by satan as you claim we are by OUR God. Keep your mouth shut regarding subject matter that is none of your concern. If I were as empty as you I'd be bitter too.

look the only thing I'll say is Im greatful for all the prayers that my family and the others have gotten for the injured, but the name of this topic isnt prayer for the people of the accident, its simply titled accident. Please continue your prayers but dont police this topic by telling people what they can, cant, or should post. I only want to clear up some untruths about drunkness, speeding, and lights, and let it be known that noone was at fault.I heard my information straight from someone that was on that hayride and have told it exactly the way it was told to me. Please keep praying for everyone involed.

There are three to blame
1.the church they must take responsiablity for the hayride being on the road.
2. the driver of the jeep. He should have seen her headlights.
3. the driver of the car for not paying attention.

My heart went out to my Douglas family last night when I heard about this accident. I'm so glad to hear that it wasn't as bad as we all feared and I am sooo proud of how everyone, well almost everyone, pulled together in prayer. Prayer does change things....keep praying.

I believe that's why he stated it may have changed. Like with pickups. You aren't reading into what's being said.

Please just keep updating on the injured so I can keep updates to my prayer teams. Negative people just want a response. Don't respond and eventually they will go away. Obviously there life is very unfulfilled. Thanks

Prayers for everyone involved.
The next time any of you are participating on a forum and negative comments such as the ones that have been posted on here appear, IGNOR them. Just as soon as you comment on what they have posted, you have just added fuel to the flame. They will only keep posting if someone acknowledges them.

The trailer should not have been on the road especially with that many kids someone should have known better than to put those kids in danger. Maybe now someone in the future will make better decisions. Too many drunks on the road.

yes a little common sense and the accident wouldn't have happened why wasn't there an escort behind that trailer with blinking lights or at least the jeep with flashers on

You are exactly right, but it is so hard to keep your mouth shut when they are speaking such nonsense.
