Is this the same man that killed a 18 year old in Fitzgerald in the late 60s or early 70s? The best I can remember he may the one that shot a guy named Ray while standing on the porch at another persons house and Ray with his arm broke and in a cast. Emory Walters got him off that one. Ray was a friend and it made me sick, I attended the trial.

I have trouble grasping the fact as you state it, that anyone would actually step onto the property of another man when that man has a gun pointed at him. That is crazy to take someone up on such a challenge when the man was obviously angry to begin with and with a gun too and within his rights on his own property and only one man. A sane man would just walk away and hope the other guy didn't shoot him in the back.
Things can get nasty fast over farm land line disputes. I knew a man who put up a fence across the landline- during the dispute. It involved lawyers, surveyors & more surveyors. It was long & drawn out. There were arguments & verbal threats. No guns involved, thank goodness.

It takes an evil person to shoot someone just because they are on your property, Now if they are trying to harm you or your family or destroy your property then you have every right to defend yourself and your property. I think you need to talk with your Sheriff and see what he says about the subject. I'm pretty sure he's not gonna tell you to shoot unless it's self defense.

When she was referring to animal she was talking about the fact that he had been in the and the buzzards had gotten to him and the fact that a person good or bad had died and horrible death and all you can do is make fun at the families expense. May God have mercy on your soul. It is not mine or anyone elses place to judge him it is god place with it is his time and your to make that judgment on all your sins and his.
thanks for the help, i didn't really want to get graphic and say the animals had eaten him but sometime you can't post anything right.

He did not shoot him dead. He shot him in the leg and he died of a blood clot later. Mr. Fussell was not charged with murder he was charged with manslaughter (involuntary or voluntary) and from old families talking he did not mean to shoot him.
You are correct he meant to shoot my 0 ear old newphew and Tom TOOK TGE BULLET FOR HIM. He was CHARGED WITH MURDER AND FOUND GUILTY OF MANSLAUGHTER

And you know this how??? Looks like to me if so many people knew so much about all the people he murdered then there would be a trial and he would not have gotten off?

Unless of course it's hear say!! He did serve time for the death of one man, he shot in the leg (tresspassers up to no good)the man dies later due to a infection. Had he really wanted him dead he would have shot hi in the head and fed him to the gators, wouldnt you think!

I knew him also and he would give you the shirt off his back as long as you didnt wrong him.....And yes he could be mean, after all to survive in those neck of the woods you have to be tough!!

"What goes around, does indeed come back around." I grew up living in Jacksonville Ga, I knew H. Fussell and a lot of the horrible things that he done, he murdered, stole, and mistreated a lot of good innocent people in his life time and his brother was the same horrible type of man that he was. They always ran dirty work for the Boones, rest assured that their is indeed a special little corner in hell reserved for this man.
