if you dont need it why do you kill the deer? my folks always told me to learn to clean your game and eat it, never kill an animalunless you intend to use it for food

That is about a $1.30 a pound, give or take a few cents, go buy lean meat at the store for that price!

Try just dragging the whole deer off the tailgate and leaving it at either one of those places. I think you are paying for convenience at Merrits. Skin for Ten and gut for free....

Maybe DEER KILLER likes to give the meat away, but can't afford to at that price.

Sounds to me like Deer killer's name is what it implies, deer killer rather than deer hunter.

deer hunting and true sportsman only take the game they need and are willing to dress and clean. they are curtious to landowners and neighbors, they are willing to reinburse landowners and help maintain the property, rpviding food plots and wildlife habitat. they are generally welcome by all and are good stewards of wildlife and nature.

deer killers however are the folks that show up on property they dont own, day or night, shooting what ever they can and taking only part of the carcuss leaving the rest to rot. they cut fences, ride fourwheelers and trucks all over the property distroying wildlife and habitat. the disregard any property owners rights with the attitude that someones "owes them" a place to kill animals, for they do not hunt they are just animal killers.

i am not saying that "deer killer" does this , its just the name implys these actions.

the above post happens way to often and really makes property owners not willing to allow anyone on their property. I know this to be true because it happens on land that I own and my neighbors land all the time.

maybe "deer killer" should just change his handle, sure would give less than favorable reaction to his posts

I wish there were more deer killers and less sportsmans out there. Deer are a damn expensive nuisance. They cost people their property and sometimes their lives. The more of the 4 legged rats are slaughtered, the better.

I've been there and am very pleased! The prices are posted and very clear. You see it on the meat in the grocery store and either pay it or you don't. Jerky and sausage are both expensive and time consuming. Processing and hanging and smoking, double wrapped. I LIKE IT! Take a look inside, how clean the place is. When you check it all out either leave it or don't. It doesn't say that the less your deer weighs the cheaper the price. So when your hunting make sure its worth it instead of killing something the size of a big dog. It takes the same process to skin and gut the smaller as the big daddy. You have a choice in the matter. Pay for convience or do it yourself. Personally I like the convience and I like the folks doing it. Been going there for years and will continue to right on!

Don't know about any of the processing places, but "YoMomma" told me about this thread and I've got about a half a large chest type freezer full of pork smoked sausage that I'd like to get rid of. It was processed by Big L's outta Lumber City, Georgia. It was left at my house by my ex (he had hogs)and I don't eat sausage. I don't have bacon or ham, just packages & packages of smoked sausage and a large chest freezer. Email me at: llmusic@windstream.net and I'll make ya a SWEET deal on either the pork or the freezer or a really sweet deal on BOTH. I'll even consider trading some sausage for bacon or ham of equal value. Thanks ya'll.

Daily Horoscope for January 1

Sagittarius

Happy New Year, Saggitarius! Despite the headache, your motivation level is high today, setting a trend for the rest of the year. You'll be surrounded by relatives and friends all year and will work passionately to help them, as you do. Things go smoothly today, and you're absorbed with the duties of new year. Be careful that you don't neglect your own health, though. You can't help others if you're run down.
