Internet always dies after 4 PM. Anyone else having this problem?

Have the same problem almost every day, same time. I run a business and cannot operate without internet. My phones are also VOI so they go out too. Windstream care little about fixing this problem and the local office and service technicians are so arrogant the know everything before you even explain. Very little options in Douglas for a fix, here Mediastream is as bad.

Its down now and whenever we called they said it would a a few hours! Our office is on a standstill. I wish they would fix this. They said that the guaranteed service you by back up by mid might..

nothing any of the windstream people can do around here. windstream isn't going to spend the money to update rural internet, we are stuck with this crap.

Here's how can can fix this..

Call 1-800-347-1991. Speak with customer service, tell them you want to disconnect your service because Mediastream is now offering a cheaper price on phone and their internet, real internet. Both of which can be hooked up today.

They will pass you over to an Accounts Specialist who will try and stop you from cutting your service. Wheel and deal with them, if they want your business then they shouldn't be charging you a premium on a internet and phone service that works 3 hours a day. This is South Georgia, not Afghanistan.

Here's how *you* can fix this..

FYI, Windstream told me yesterday that the problems are pretty big and and the company is pushing hard to get them resolved.(bulls*^&) Currently, the timeline for completion is the second quarter of next year aka April or May.(really)

Apparently the big problem is the Fiber-optic Lines need to be replaced everywhere. My problem is is that I have seen very little activity ANYWHERE that indicated Windstream is "pushing hard" to get the system updated.

So, the more people who call 1-800-347-1991 and cut and or threaten to cut service, the faster this will get resolved.

Was told a couple months ago to bear with windstream the problem would be resolved by October. Bull*^# it's December and now they say spring of 2013, I called the consumers affair to make a report, if everyone contacts them, for every complaint windstream has to fill out multiple documents on what and when they will have issue fixed.

If we call contact the FCC then they'll have to change it because the government won't give them a choice. :-)

If you file a formal complaint with FCC you will get good internet service. That's the highest complaint. I've switched cable pairs,OE,internet ports from a non complaining to the complaining customer. just to close out the FCC complaint. The Phone Co has only a limited time to respond and correct the complaint. I could go on and on, but in short, sent a complaint by email, it can't get lost.

The FCC was put in place to protect YOU. The FCC can fine a company. Its like the law (no one is above the law). Think of the FCC as your lawyer. Now days there is competition, but Local phone companies are still regulated, they must honer all order from the FCC

Why is it we cannot get the Atlanta channels. Does Dish or Direct TV offer any Atlanta channel? I contacted 11 alive Atlanta and they said that it is the cable provider's decision. We have Mediastream and our Internet and phone are off every day from around 11AM until 2-3PM. Is there nothing we as consumers can do about this. I have reported and reported to no avail. Now we only have 1 NBC channel, channel 10, and it goes off when it rains. We have all these 2nd rate channels and we are paying for premium channels, I don't want to see Thomasville and Albany exclusively and no Atlanta channels. Just saying.

Dish & Direct & medastream are not regulated under the rules as a local phone co. those are oranges and local phone co is a apple. Cable co are under contract with your city or county.If its regulated complain to FCC, unregulated-good luck, no real laws

My problem is drops. It works great for 30 sec. Then slower than dialup for the next 30 sec. Then gets worst as the day progresses. Then about dark thirty, Goes out. I call, they send out a Tech next day. Time he arrives here, We are back to working full speed ahead....Just tired of paying for T-bone and getting for fed 'ground round'....If they have problems then make my dang bill so it...Cut 30% off the cost of their svc until they fix the dog gone thing...

I'll try to help.
1. who do you get your internet from
2. On your modem how many lights are ON or Blinking.
you should have 4 Green light ON or Blinking
3. how many devices and wifi are using the modem at
the same time. Each device will slow the modem.
Really think about this one, you could have a
laptops, playstation game, magicjack, Roku,many
more devices.
