None of the above. They are all corporate eateries that dont do anything but hurt locally owned places when they move into small towns. We have several great places to eat and enjoy. Support the people that support our local community. They do not give you the portions or the prices that you get at places that we have now. The restaurants we have now have people that live here and care about how you are treated. Our restaurants cant and do buy local products where as corporate stores can not do that. These places are great for larger communities but will kill the smaller towns business just like Walmart has done to our small shops and such. Then they will leave as soon as the going gets tough for them and they dont hit their profit margins. That is not what we need. Besides, how are they going to compete with Old Times? This town will not support that type of place.

Ma Junes, or the Smoking Pig, it is a shame to Have go out of town to get a good meal. The New Bejing in Waycross is also awesome.

A real steak house? Have you been out to Country Cabin? Do you mean a chain steak house?

We had an Italian place in the plaza on north side of town. Can't remember the name but it was good. It just didn't last long.

I agree with Simple Man in that we need and need to support local restaurants. Granted most of the local eating establishments could improve in quality of taste. I remember the eating places like The Gold Leaf in my opinion the best restaurant ever in Douglas because of the quality of food with the homecooking taste. Also, the I Like It and the Plantation then Royals and then one other name change. In the last few years the Hurricane Creek restaurant during the ownership of the Streats and Rowes. Today, I would love to see a S & S Cafeteria in Douglas because of the quality of food and the cooking that actually uses good seasoning. For good steaks we already have the Fern Bank and the Country Cabin with seafood covered by D J's out from Broxton that to me is as good as I have found anywhere for fish and seafood. As far as any of the ones listed at the top of this poll, most of them have one and at most two items that I would order. So they are not a big draw fr me. I am not a big fan of "fast food" restaurants such as those listed.

I would like more choices as to menu items. I think we have chicken, hamburgers, seafood, pizza, and steak covered. And basically, all of them offer the same items on their menus, it just varies in the way it is prepared. A place with true Italian cuisine would be nice. Danny's is good and I like going there, but that is not what I consider true Italian cuisine. Italian food? Yes. Cuisine, no.
