Hello everyone,I am so happy.I found out today I am 7 weeks preg.First child and,I imagine some of u are wondering why I am on here talking about it.Well I have tried for many years to have a baby. And my husband stood by me all these years,we even thought about adopting, but we never did.I am really happy and so is my husband. But for the most part the rest of my family isn't.And here comes the big reason why,ok I 45 years old.I was just wanting some feed back as to what others think.Do u all think I am to old? I really do not think I am, but like I say my family is not happy with it at all.So please everyone tell me what u all think. And please do not be to harsh on me.

Congratulations on your pregnancy!! Older parents sometimes make the better parents, more financially secure, wiser in the ways of the world, etc. You shouldn't be penalized because you had children straight out of high school and the same should go for older. I spent the majority of my adulthood getting an education, then a series of family medical issues; alas, I am also early/mid 40's without children. I, however, would like a child someday; make sure you are in good shape!! Take your prenatal vitamins, eat well, exercise at proper levels, try to keep stress to a minimum. Enjoy this time and celebrate this life growing within you. If women weren't meant to have children in later years, their bodies wouldn't have menses. Your family will come around the moment they see that sweet child in your arms. You have been blessed, I wish you well:)

I am a 43 year old new father to be. My oldest is 16. Keep in mind I remarried. What others think does not matter. What bothers me is you said not a day over 31 should you have a child? I assume you are very young. Older parents tend to raise smarter, more well behaved children than younger parents. Younger parents still want to enjoy the freedoms of being younger. Older parents are more settled.

To the original poster: go for it! Be happy, don't let anyone keep you down.

Just saw a talk show about that and as long as your healthy your good. Now, you might have to take it easy and some extra precautions but enjoy every minute of it.. And keep us up to date on this thread. You might help someone else who wants the same thing. You can be our education..

Just saying, from your posts I can tell you are a very young person. Your opinions are very immature. I hope you aren't a parent with these narrow minded shallow views. If you're body can still reproduce, you are not too old. I suspect her family feels her having a child will inconvenience them in some way. From one older parent to another soon to be older parent: Congratulations! Enjoy your pregnancy and don't worry about the selfish naysayers.

You all have missed the real point here. The time for someone to ask this question is before they get pregnant not after. It does not matter what anyone's thoughts are now she is already pregnant.

Thanks very much, for all the sweet comment's.I would like to say it has made me feel better. And for u just saying,I take very good care of myself.I work with troubled teen's and also children with special need's.So I do not think,I will be lost when it comes to knowing, if my child is on drugs. And no my child will not be home bound.I am not that old.And after trying for so many years,u kinda get the idea it is not meant to be,or it just isn't going to happen. So being me and my husband have been married for so many years, why would I use protection?? Because the way I feel about it,is if it wasn't meant to happen it would not of happened.I was only wanting to ask and see if anyone else, had a child at my age or around my age.And one more thing for u just saying, anyone can be in a wheel chair,at any age.I know I work with children with special need's like I said above. So I would like to tell u,I think that was a very rude and immature comment. No one asks,or want's to be in a wheel chair!!! All I can say to u,and have to say to u,is I will pray for u.And I pray u nor any of your family ever has to be in a wheel chair.Or scooter as u called it.God bless.

Lots of 45 year old women do a fine job raising their grandchildren. No big deal! Enjoy your gift from God. Work at staying healthy and strong. Forties are the new thirties. A child will keep you young. None of us are promised tomorrow. A thirty year old woman can die, and you just may live to be 100. Take it all one day at a time.

"Just sayin", you've got lots of maturing to do. I'm not being mean because you don't know any better, but you will grow up and grow older one day, and you'll come to understand.

For all of you to know im 50 years old if I was to have a child now the chances are I would be in a wheel chair or on a scooter myself.Like I said im happy to have a grandchild I want some my time for my self. If you wait until your 45 or 50 to have kids your own parents most likly will be gone so here we go no grandparents to enjoy the kids

"Just Saying", it's hard to believe that you are 50 years old. Mature people mostly don't think the way you do. Did you know that "we gain five hours of life expectancy every day — without even exercising! A third of all the babies born in the developed world this year will live to be 100" (Fareed Zakaria).

If you really are 50, you must be in poor health to already be worried about being in a wheel chair or scooter. Also,(if you are really 50) just because you want "me" time does not mean everyone your age does. Some people find joy in having small children in the house. I think this would be especially true of someone who has tried for so many years to have a child.

Old is just a frame of mind. Yes, our bodies slow down and wear and tear, but we can embrace those changes and enjoy life, or we can develop "poor me" attitudes and act old.

I had my first and only child at 36 my husband was 44! We are now 41 and 49. We have a five year old to keep up with and we do a great job. We both are in good shape and keep it that way. We spend all of our time with our child. If I had been younger having a child I would have been too worried about me time that so many young people do today and the grandparents end up raising them. My husbands parents died before my child was born and mine are in their 60s and 70s. They get to enjoy her but I don't put them off on them. You know your body and lifestyle so please do not let this stress you. Enjoy your pregnancy and Gods gift to you!!

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Cancer

Today's Full Moon will have a powerful impact on your health during the next few months. Maybe this is the spur you need to inspire you to take better care of yourself, such as improving your diet, getting more exercise or finally consulting the doctor about something that's worrying you. It will also be the end of a chapter connected with your work, but don't fret because this ending will lead on to a new beginning.
