Am I the only one that has a problem with this? I don't think it is right that our tax dollars should pay the gas for DP to take his child to school. Just saying....

I agree. If you don't work for the county as a Deputy and aren't being transported to jail, you shouldn't be allowed to ride in a Sheriffs car. Our tax dollars shouldn't pay for a deputies to transport kids to and from school.

I only know what I witnessed this morning when I was taking my grandson to CMS. I saw Daniel Paulk in his deputy car dropping off his daughter. I understand that he was probably on his way to work, but it just isn't safe or ethical. A lot of parents can't afford the gas to drive their kids to school, but our tax dollars can afford to let a deputy escort his daughter in a car furnished by the county to school. I think NOT. This needs to be corrected, NOW! Just think, what if he got an emergency call with her in the car. What would he do?

If she rides the bus our tax dollars are still paying for her to ride to school. I have seen more than him taking their kid to school. Look at the city trucks going though the line and the other deputies.

The DSD is quickly becoming the Inquisition. Plus they profile like MAD. I'm a white guy and I see it.

I totally agree..... We should be complaining to the idiot that says we complain tooo damn much ! This is ridiculous if we pay for our gas to bring our kids the Daniel Paulk needs to pay for his own gas to bring his kid ! I also seen a guy by the name of Scott bringing his kid to school in a deputy car ! This should be put to a stop ..... Maybe we should vote for Wooten and get this under control I was going to vote for Pope but I think this has changed my mind !

Ok...you take your kid on your way to work in a work furnish vehicle..which is exactly what they dupties and popo are doing on their way to work. If they are driving their kid to school in their work truck/car and then back home, that is a waste and unjustified, while if on the way to work is fine. They aren't paid exactly well even with a college degree and years of experience plus their health care is expensive. They may be city or county employees, but the county and city are not large entities that can get a deal on health insurance.

These are just benefits of having a job where you get shot for pulling someone over to tell them they have a headlight out! Which happened to me but I didn't shoot him, just thanked him. I'm sure if it was daylight he would have even replaced it for me, darn it bieng late at night. I just had to do it all by myself!

Heck... I've seen him driving his deputy car all the way down to the CMS softball field with his children. Not only is this cheating the county out of gas money but it's flaunting and saying look at my big bad butt! What's even worse--- all of the other parents walked 2 miles to get to the place where he drove! I can't stand him.

If he gets in a reck, who pays. They see you broke down beside the road, they can't give you a ride, unless it's to jail. I dont agree with it, the risk out weigh the good.

Yes, I agree with all of you it is not right for them to drive the cars to take kids to school, or to the gym or even home and around town after hours but it is not only the county officers. It is the detectives and even the city officers too. These cars are for the use of their jobs while on duty and we the public are paying for their gas to go here and there, to deliver their kids to school and to soccer practice I have also saw deputies have their wife or girlfriends park their car get in the ccso car and them go to a place to eat then him take her back to her car! PLEASE TELL US WHAT IS RIGHT ABOUT THAT???? The problem is it is not just One there are two or three at CMS that deliver therir kids to school in the ccso cars!!!

Everybody talks problem is yall never know what you talk about. They give rides to people who are broke down all the time. I also know of one who went and got gas for someone that had ran out. And he put it in for them. Just because they work there they are not evil. There are some very good people who work at the Sheriff's Office. Everybody afraid someone is getting something someone else isnt getting, Grow Up.

I saw many deputy cars at the ball field this week-- parked illegally and watching their kids play. I think they should abide by the same rules we do.
