Authorities say a woman has been found living with hundreds of rats and four malnourished snakes in a home outside Rochester.

There was this story I read on the internets about this guy in Germany (go figure) whose pet snake bit him and he died and all his other pets (snakes, rats and spiders) slowly ate him in pieces.
