People just want to ban everything. If my child wants a soda l will pack it in there lunch. My kids are underweight anyways. Soda is not a drug. if my kids wants to bring a TOY gun to school that's ok too. A toy is not a weapon. This is supposed to a free country so way ban more stuff.

Caffeine is a drug. Soda has caffeine. Soda is a legal drug.

No, I don't think soda should be banned for teachers, but I also don't agree with the removal of it from vending machines and student access either. Students may not be able to buy soda at school, but I know 2 students who take soda from home every day and drink it at school.

These people who are trying to make everybody's life and health perfect should look in their own life first and leave us alone

Good luck trying! I sent my son to school with a Sprite. Those are caffeine free and my kid's teacher told him that I wasn't allowed to do that! I can see not letting the schools sell or give soda to kids, but what's wrong with a kid drinking a Sprite that they brought from home?

A kid in another state was kicked out of school for just talking about playing with toy guns. They accused that kid of making terror threats. She was five and the gun blew bubbles!

What school? I may bring lunch to school for my child with a soda and nothing ever said. Pack it in lunch all the time. Nothing ever said. You guys must be morons.

As a teacher and an ADULT, I am extremely offended that anyone thinks that they have the right to tell me what I drink for lunch. I do not eat my lunch in front of the children, so why is it fair?? A teacher's lunch is their thirty minutes to do with as they wish. Good luck with this nonsense. Maybe they should worry more about the sorry parenting that seems to be steadily growing.

i think teachers need drug tested. most of them are on drugs daily. just look at how many are caught after being allowed to teach for years. i wish i could get the records but the education system like to sweep this stuff under the rug. remember the teach that wrecked her car a few years ago on her way to work dui. remember the two guy who sexually exploited our kids that were on drugs(boyer, kirk) and i remember another who was let go because he would pass out in class alot. but yeah lets take the soda out of school its so bad for the kids.

I am an educator and have NEVER taken any illegal drugs. I will gladly take a drug test anytime, anywhere! You are completely wrong if you think most teachers are on drugs! Sure, there are a few bad apples out there. But NO, most educators are hard-working individuals who have to put up with negative attitudes from people like you!

There are some really uninformed people on here you give the responsibility to educate your children to teachers because you don't want to they are your personal baby sitters hell before long you'll expect them to be in the delivery room to catch them when they come into this world and raise them for you if you don't like public education or the teachers that are hired don't bitch about it take your kids out and educate them yourself

At our school we have teachers that are extremely obese and they sit there and drink soda after soda in front of the kids. They take the elevator one floor because they can't walk up one floor. One teacher is really big and she's sales sodas to the kids. Great examples for kids to learn from. Do as I say, not as I do!!!
