When you put a sign up that says new management why would you put your name up there too? I dont know who VITO AMATO is. I really don't care who he is but I guess he is running the Timbers now. Does the name VITO AMATO carry the same weight as let's say Bobby Flay to put it on the sign? It looks a little weird. Hurry! Honey, We have to go the Timbers they got Vito Amato running the joint! It has to be better. Vito is the difference! He is known to fold the Pizza box better than anyone ever. Whatever you do Vito dont serve Italian food. The is enough to go around in Ladysmith. American! American! Fresh Ingredients!

Ha Ha! Good to see you last night Lord Land Or
I guess everyone but you know who Vito and Josephine Amato are.Not only known for their wonderful food they are known as great corporate citizens to the community donating food for the last nearly two decades to organizations from Relay For Life to church groups. In short the community loves them and not because they monopolize the room like a bad and loud potato like the previous owner as you always find both of them in the BACK room most likely cooking.Grow up "Lord" your BS is wearing thin and I think the Amatos would be mighty surprised at who you are

Their gifts to the community have no bearing on what I was discussing. I find it everyone bashes the former owner for bragging about his success. When Mr. Vito Amato puts a sign up broadcasting his. I think this guy is opening an Italian restaurant despite the other business owner. He couldnt have scouted the place and said " This is a great place to open another pizza shop." There is no way the community can support two like restaurants. One has to think there is more to this than simply wanting to bring no choice to us consumers. He should have put it in the lake right? Or would you have run him out as well? By the way I wasnt at your meaning. Guess again?

Good lord! I have to agree with Lord Landor. They may be fine people, cook well, etc. but we do NOT need more Italian food! Too bad it didn't pan out for current owner. A healthy, variety menu, ambiance and atmosphere is needed around here. Entertainment, activities, specialty nights are a must to keep people coming, though you have to have good food and service too! And that has to be consistent. Have to hire an experienced restaurant manager to run the show. So much potential for that spot, right off 95 and Rt1.
Seems they think that the folks in the area only like pizza. One business will just take from the other. A wash for them.
The area lacks so much anyway. We don't attract and keep business because people shop and dine in the border counties and beyond. All those tax dollars that could stay here support them. Our local gas stations make a bundle off of us because we buy their gas to travel everywhere but here. Guess that's something.
Got off the subject: hope it's not more Italian.

So open your own restaurant and serve what you think the market will bear. In the meantime, the Amatos can serve whatever they want, its their investment whether it pleases you or not and given their success elsewhere I'd be willing to bet this venture will do just as well--I loved the menu at the Timbers and the food was great but you couldn't talk to your date let alone your family for the loud mouth of the owner permeating the place every time you went there talking about how fabulous he was--the Amatos are humble quiet corporate citizens who are not into the self aggrandizement of the former owner/manager and so just about anything would be an improvement in the overall atmosphere

To LOL: Read for comprehension. You missed the point. No one was slamming the Amatos or their food.

Dear Observer,

I'd be BUGGED too if I realized I was anonymously dissing someone whose restaurant I regularly enjoyed eating in. The first post clearly says how dare Mr. Amato,(the business owner no less)put his own name on his own sign and furthermore how dare he put his own money in his own restaurant and dare to serve what he chooses in his own place of business, a business he has been very successful in both as an owner and community servant. Oh!How dare he!!Anyone who has ever eaten in Romas also well knows that the menu is much larger than pizza and in fact the family type meals are offered in a good variety. I doubt even the previous owner would appreciate your attempt to discourage people from eating there as I understands he is in real need of the rent money. With friends like you ole Danny does not need any enemies

I promise I have no problem with reading comprehension but keep it up
Dig yourself in a little deeper and the next time you are in Romas and I see you I'll slip my arm around your neck and ask Mrs Amato to come join us and we'll have a little conversation about what you think of her business decision to open a new restaurant and what she has chosen to serve there not to mention how dare her husband put a sign with his name on his own restaurant and you can have the discussion with her

Mr. Amato has taken over the restaurant and the new menu is there. Our dinner tonight was very good, and there are a lot more dishes available. A nice combination of steaks, seafood, pasta, and some nice appetizers too. The prices are better too.

LOL,
You are a petty guy on here trying to start trouble no one said anything bad about th amatos. Just a little weird he put his name up on the new management sign. You are also threatening someone to out them to Mrs amato. Who is this person you speak of? No One said anything bad about anyone! I would love to see you put your arm around my neck. The only ones who would act like that dress in uniforms. I still think it is a bad decision to go against guiseppes. The Timbers will lose this battle. LOL are you going to the Timbers? I will be there on Friday and maybe you can wrap your hands around mine and we can dance!

To me it doesn't sound a like a head-to-head battle with the neighboring restaurant as they still have steaks and seafood on the menu and are not changing the inside decor. I frequent a seafood restaurant out-of-state and they have pizza on the menu there, so what's the problem guys?

I want to thank you mr Moser for being all that you are. I really want to donate to your campaign for Mayor. You will be the best canidate. You have a lot of experience with politics and have always displayed a flare for the dramatic. I mean who else could take intimidation to a new level. You have my vote. I will always be awed by your presence.
