Does anyone know the story of the big white mansion on verdon road that was built a few years ago, where the windows, siding etc were removed over the last month or two and then all of a sudden the whole house was gone? I hear it belonged to a local builder. Just curious.

Yes, he was a local builder (BT Goodman) he had several homes he built...set 1 a blaze for insurance so the word is..he's sitting in jail...The Martin Marietta rock quarry on Verdon bought the property, and demolished the house!

Does anyone have any more information on what has become of B.T. Goodman or BT Goodman Builders. He built our house and we are now trying to get warranty repairs but, they seem to have dropped off the map.

Your better off calling a lawyer first. Who was your realtor?

BT Goodman is NOT in jail. He claims to have closed his business and is on the edge of bankruptcy, says the news program. The quarry paid him over a million dollars for his home off Verdon! And searching public records will get you all sorts of juicy tidbits, about the so called sale of his business to one of his sons, etc. If your home was built by him and/or you did business with Meredith Minter of Long and Foster, I strongly suggest you get your hands on all the records of the sale, etc. that your county has on file and compare them to what you thought you purchased. Also search the webpage of Department of Professional and Occupational Resources (DPOR). You'll find the info about the fines and what not that both those guys have gotten. And yeah, contact that lady at the news station. There's strength in numbers!

So NOT true! When you make accusations against a person, please make sure your information is correct. No homes were set ablaze for insurance, and where did you get information about him sitting in jail? He was a neighbor for years prior to the sell of his property and while there are financial issues relating to the business (most construction companies have been having financial issues lately) there is definately no basis for your wrong information.

For the books, BT Goodman built my home in Bowling Green Virginia about 6 years ago. He was very nice, professional and proud of the house he build, my home. I met him after my home was built, I had him finish my attic. Everything he did was fine. One of the other local builders in the are stopped by and asked if he could look through my home shortly after I bought it, he told me BT did a great job on this house, "you got a good home"... I have had several problems with the HVAC units, don't recommend WHIRLPOOL Spec Stuff. But other than that, great builder. Hope others had same experience and sorry if you didn't.

Goodman built a few homes close to the quarry knowing that they would purchase his homes due to them being in the path of the new pit... With that being said he played Martin marieta more than once, that big white house was the last straw they told him he could not build another home. Within in a certain distance I heard he is a good guy builds good beautiful homes but he found a way to make a lot of easy money off that quarry fuck it who cares I woulda to if i had the knowlege and money to do it.. Now the big white house they gutted all the stuff they could keep and sell then they let the fire department do a controlled burn on the home it was for training purposes goodman did not burn his home for insurance money people quit hating and chase your own paper..
