I hope the judge and or DA don't believe this guy's statement concerning this dog. I don't think this 22 year old is an expert on diagnosising conditions that can only be brought by a Veterinarian. This was not a attempt at a mercy killing. It was pure meaness and I'm sure this person will either harm another animal or worse yet his spouse or an innocent child. Sadistic people don't stop unless we stop them.

This dog can't speak for himself, we must stand up for him and others like him who have suffered from an abusive owner.

Well, if he couldn't afford to take care of the dog, then why get one in the first place?? Pets can't get treatment on their own, that's the owners' responsibility! Duh!

Whatever...if this yahoo had decided he had liver problems would he have asked his buddies to do this to him? I doubt it. In the worse case scenario, and I don't agree with this, at least call animal control and pretend it is a stray. Again, I don't agree with that solution, but it is better than hanging the dog for heaven's sake. This person should NEVER be allowed to own a pet again.

This is sickening. I am also wondering if the fines that are "possible" would go to animal rescues or sanctuaries. That needs to be looked at.

Sure you were tryng to "help" the dog. You could have just brought it to a shelter and dropped it off! Sounds like you were able to do some research on how to save your a$$ before the police got to you.

Our protection of animals stinks ..The Prosecutor doens't have any heart or brains Animals are warm blooded like us humans.... They fell pain. That scum bag owner ,surfing on the net ,,jerk. If he didn't want the dog bring it to a NO kill shelter . Is the owner a Vet ???????

Any body that abuses animal or kids and adults ,,do the same to them ,, no trail ,, to jail for years.

Get Real you high oficals .. people get away with murder

There is always a better option than hanging the dog! I hope the Judge really gives him what he deserves....no way should this guy have been this ignorant. He should NEVER be allowed to own a animal again either!

If he'll do it to a dog, he'll do it to a person...
It should be a felony. Anderson charges him instead with a misdemeanor, which he'll plea down to almost nothing. Shameful.

This is tragic and disgusting! The even sadder part is that this happens too often! I tried reporting abuse today about a dog I saw being mistreated, who was also extremely malnourished, and was told that animal control has been called out twice already for this animal but that what I saw wasn't mistreatment but rather the owner being angry that the dog had gotten loose. So it basically has to get to this point before the authorities will get involved. It's sad and it breaks my heart to know that someone is capable of hurting such an innocent creature...

There's no way the cops and the prosecutor could possibly believe this lying scumbag, si there? If so, I have a bridge in Alaska I'd like to sell them.
