Oh No! Not again! My heart goes out to the families. This is just way too difficult of a thing for people to walk through. I'm praying for all involved and their families. I'm just soooo sorry about this walk.

More top-notch reporting.108th Ave. is down by Otsego.Must be they meant 108th Street.Maybe the drunk was in a hurry to get last call at the Countryside Bar...and caused the death of an innocent.I'd say it's unbelievable, but it's not.Too bad there aren't more cops out on the road instead of sitting in Wayland at the Shell station drinking coffee-it seems to be the fave hangout for the Allegan County boys.

I think there may have been some students involved. I live 3 houses down from the intersection and there are a lot of teenagers rolling by the scene this morning.

Exactly right. It was at 21st Avenue and 108th Street, on the Kent County/Allegan County border. I also agree with your comment about the police. The way traffic zips through on 108th Street a policeman could easily reach his month's quota in speeding tickets just by parking off 108th Street.

The woman killed was a much loved member of her family and her husband is hospitalized with serious injuries. The sun rose and set on her in the life of all her small grandchildren and her own children, who are not even out of their 30's, now have to live their lives without her. Her husband is sick with grief. Drunk Redneck, that is the most horrific thing to ever say, a member of my family is dead.

ummmm, no. Not careless thinking- criminal behavior. VERY HIGH alcohol blood level, 18 yr old driver. Ran a stop sign, killed a woman, put her husband in critical condition. Nothing careless about it. Hope he goes away for a very long time.

Dont abuse our police officers. They do a difficult job under conditions, and get very little thanks. Why should they then have to justify a coffee break to jerks like you? Do you take a coffee break from your work?

When I go by that Shell station at midnight and see 3 or 4 cars sitting there,I have a huge problem with that.Allegan County is very big-there is no reason whatsoever to have 3 or 4 cars in the same spot. They don't need to all take a coffee break at the same time,in the same spot.

Stev-0 you are an idiot.
What is wrong with them being at the Shell? First they are taking a break and second - them being there they are preventing possible robbers to come.
Stev-0 you should ask for a ride-a-long with your local police department so you can see how it is to be alone in a car for 10 hours and those 15-20 minutes they take for a coffee break is all they get. Oh and one more thing, if they were to sit at that interesection and write tickets all night you would be complaining here abot them not doing anything else. People like you make me sick.
Have you ever had someone from your family arrested for OWI? If you did I'm guessing you cursed at police and of course Police is allways wrong in whatever they do. The way I look at this... Every time Police arrest a drunk driver they save someones life. But idiots like you are never going to be satisfied.

I do know the young man and the family and I can't imagine that they could be any more sorrowful for the actions of their son that took the life of a human and injured another. But they are fighting to keep their son alive too. There is no excuse and they will be the first to say it. Teenagers are not invincible as they tend to think; there are consequences.
I'm appalled at the jokes that have been made and the attacks (on the police)that have no consequence on the situation. Families are in anguish over this! Have the decency to realize that.
