On PC Agenda 7/11/12:

Application for rezoning of property at 5312 Buford Hwy from C-2 to CT zoning district (parcels # 18 310 04 027 & 18 310 04 025) by D.H. Stokes Sr. Family Partnership LP.

BEWARE: There is apparently a wine WHOLESALE (not just wine distribution) operation at this location.

Is the owner going to give up his rights to wholesale when the property is rezoned????

Seems like an attempt for more wholesale inroads on Buford HWY.

what does the PC advise? more residents need to attend the PC meetings. what happened at the meeting tonight at Baldino's that Robert Patrick and Pam Fleming held? from what I can gather it was not widely known about so apparently they only invited a select few to attend. why?

The PC has been handpicked and pushed by the businesses. Joe Cooley runs the meetings even though they try to make it look like Donna's friend runs it. I'm sure Pam was torn by having to attend that BS Baldino's meeting where the meek and the gullible were invited to come and drink kool aid.

According to the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, National Revenue Center, Cincinnatti OH, the facility at this site is a wholesaler with a Permit #GA-9-1967, as of July 8, 2012 records. It couldn't sell retail because it would have to have obtained a Conditional Use for a retail liquour store like the others.

Isn't there a billboard on this property as well?

Why is the property developed on 2 parcels?

Planning Commission just advises the city council. Council has the power. Go to the council meetings and be heard. Somethings not right about this CT zoning. It's just for a very few business owners who rent their cinder block buildings in Doraville but live somewhere else where they could never have such a business.

All the low class and wholesale businesses on Buford Highway drag down my property values. They directly hit my family in the wallet. I want our elected officials to do what they were elected to do and that is to clean up Buford Highway. The planning commission and council need to focus on ridding the city of commercial slumlords and residential slumlords. Stop the decline of property values of every homeowner in the city limits of Doraville. Then get busy raising the values.

Doesn't Doraville have a paid city attorney? Isn't this something he or she can investigate?

Why is this kind of thing allowed? Who is watching the store for crying out loud? For real, who is responsible for this at city hall? Come on all this crap kills property values and the incentive for people to move to Doraville.

Please no more wholesalers in my Northwoods neighborhood and on main street in Doraville! Move them to the tank farm district. Move them to industrial parks off Buford Highway. Get them off Buford Highway please! They're killing our property values and ruining quality of life for homeowners and people who have their life savings invested in their homes. We've got to clean up Buford Highway. It starts with Halpern Enterprises.

CT zoning must be special to Doraville. Can't find anybody else that knows anything about it. Does anybody know? Why does Doraville need it and why does Doraville need it on Buford Highway? What's really going on, seriously?

Where does Joe Cooley come from and where did he get the power? Isn't council the one that's suppose to have the power? Seriously. Is he doing what council tells him or not? It's a fair question.

Joe Cooley came from a law firm that represented Halpern in one, maybe two lawsuits against the city. The idiots that voted to hire him use the excuse that he knows a lot about "both sides" of zoning issues. Jimmy Cushman will tell anyone who listens how great Cooley is. In other words, Cooley is Halpern's bitch, and he along with the smarmy lawyer do their best to make sure every whorehouse, nightclub, wholesaler and pawn shop know exactly where the loopholes are that they can jump through and continue to ruin our city.

We hear he signs off on business license but neither confirms nor denies the use or the zoning.

Later, oops, I made a mistake is the pleading. The Council allegedly (except Trudy) defends his actions no matter what.

And, supposedly businesses get an early start in districts where they are not allowed on the premise the code is being changed or their property will be rezoned.

You know I hear Pamie is trying to put wholesale back into C-1/C-2.

Mr. Stokes Ct zoning is apparently for a wholesale T-shirt manufacturer that gets this, is already in the building???

Do we need a class action lawsuit?

I think there is a wine wholesaler in one of Stokes' buildings too. Some idiots in this town hold him in high regard, from what I've heard he's just another slumlord jerk.
